OnlyOffice
Thanks for the links :)

OnlyOffice is not working for me.

Code: Select all

./DesktopEditors: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libhogweed.so.5: undefined symbol: __gmpn_cnd_sub_n
Had to extract it, and then repackage it removing the offending library (libhogweed). Then it works ok.

Howto: Popular AppImages one click away

Alright, but in the AppImageKit link, there's the explanation and then there's a link to the AppImageHub, which should suffice as introduction.

I wouldn't hesitate to include those links, but sadly, it seems I can't edit the first post anymore.

You can find more Appimages on:
Yes I'm aware of that, but I've found many of them obsolete or not well maintained at all.

As I stated in the first post, I prefer to get the package from the very source, if exists.

Cheers!

The 9 and colon browsers font issue

Some of you may have been wondering for some time, what the hell was wrong with your browser Lucida Grande font, the number 9 (replaced by a dash symbol) and the colon char (not appearing)... Well, this is the explanation. Not clear for me if I have to install other helvetic fonts, or setup a fonts ...

added the scribus link to the first post for you
Thanks!

Recently I had to change the email account. I think it has to be related with this. I can't see the "pencil" icon in some of my posts.

Scribus 1.5.5 AppImage is working for me.

For some reason I cannot edit first post, so I include it here.

Updating/building modules in Nemesis

if there is some new dependency appears, it will be missed.. We force disabling dependencies (pacman -Sdd). I don't know how to deal with this. Is there any workaround? By now, If the module suddenly fails, it's up to the user to try pacman -S <package> and see what are the new dependencies needed....

Speech to text software?

This one works really well for me (Nemesis...) Needs python-pip package. There's a nodejs fork and also google-tts-api seems to get regular updates. Have a look here . If nothing suits you, maybe you should try WINE+ Balabolka , but this is another arena and you'll need SAPI 5 voices ($$$) to get g...

Updating/building modules in Nemesis

From the works of Jack and ncmprhnsbl , I've been sketching some lines to build/update modules on Nemesis. Just putting it all togheter here to save new users from digging around. Please, feel free to improve it and report back, as I am not a scripting master at all. #!/bin/bash ## ## Update module ...

Nemisis-the God of retributive Justice

(and I know you didn't mean that harshly) Indeed. Please accept my apologies, for I didn't intend to offense anyone. I must improve my english (and my CP/M). Sorry. Over the last years I have seen some thoughts here and there on the topic, but it always ends the same. Feels like Nemesis is an outla...

I get this: "grep: /etc/porteus.d/login: No such file or directory"
I did have this issue too, but solved using initrd.xz from the firs post.

Seems you can't mix (import) initrd and kernel from Porteus.

See here (2 pages above). I think we are searching the same goal :D

Nemisis-the God of retributive Justice

re-creating the wheel Controversial statment... :) It's more of a logical step to me. Slowing down development to warrant stability is respectable but you can't freeze progress forever... From my POV, migrating from Slackware to Arch is a rough move , thought every time Nemesis heads out of his nic...
