not to shed any light on the matter but I had the same problems trying to boot from usb 2 with a sandisk usb 3. Sent the drive back for a refund and bought an adata instead which worked fine.
exfat on some of it and ext4 for porteus-

got Sylpheed working by downloading it from ponce. Found some posts here that said that slackonly didn't work properly because the hoster is compiling. which is probably why I couldn't get the client to work.
All is working now and I've got my thumbdrive running like I want

Hi, I need an email client but all the ones I've tried won't start up (Sylpheed, Claws and Trojitá). Downloaded, merged, activated, moved to modules and tried a restart but alas, nothing works. I'm running the system from USB and as root. Can anyone give me some hints as to what I'm doing wrong? - Bob

I'm on Porteus Cinnamon for the first time (BunsenLabs before) but am in general totally new to linux. Found USM fast, updated and wrote "firefox" in the search. Found the light version, downloaded and moved to modules folder. Starts up every time I boot. Apart from that I haven't made a lot of chan...

It's a usb 2 thumbdrive.
Came here to tell you that the problem kind of fixed itself... don't know what I did but I do have another problem now but I'll post that in another topic

Hi, totally new to porteus and linux but I get the above message when running usm -u all It also says Failed to create temporary directory. Fatal Anyone know what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it? I've got Porteus set up on a 4gb thumbdrive with the first partition set as ntfs and the second set up...
