loop number

Two lines from DMESG file. - 6 seconds work out [ 2.526660] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI removable disk [ 8.619084] udevd[599]: starting eudev-3.2.5 I was interested in these ¨loop devices¨ stuff since ,I assume 6 seconds were consumed, during boot , building loop devices . Obviously, more modul...

loop number

Thanks jssouza and brokenman. May be when you are free, you can educate me a little. When you activate a module, it is mounted and shows up in /mnt/live/memory/images/. Why does OS need to create loop devices for them to read/write, Can´t mount option alone do that? What expects a block device and h...

ZSTD compression instead of XZ for the modules

Zstd compression available in squashfs-tools in Slackware. I got it through USM. Check alien database.
A xzm module, 300MB was , 318MB in zstd. Compresion level 22.

Speed has to be checked when an ISO is made with zst and deployed, in real time opening applications.

Ocenaudio-3.6.4-64 bit.

Download deb package from here.

http://www.ocenaudio.com/en/download

If deb2xzm works, convert, or unpack with p7zip, dir2xzm and activate. Installs in /opt.

Needs Qt5 preinstalled in your machine.

Works fine.

Panel Clock Widget

Comes with normal display in Black highlights in white. Most of us may choose a dark colour for panel. Clock becomes invisible. Adding this little code to .gtkrc-2.0 in /home/guest helps.. style "myclock" { fg[NORMAL] = "#ffffff" } class "XfceXfceClockDigital" style "myclock" If you use analog clock...

Porteus Kernel Builder

BIOS Flashing is a permanent procedure, microcode overwritten in the chip on Motherboard.

Loading new Microcode as an image file before initrd, during boot is a temporary affair, executed by the kernel every boot. Remove the image file from boot order, you go back to original old code.

Porteus Kernel Builder

^^ Missing some kernel info.... Fully installed Linux OS will have boot folder in root, containing vmlinuz, initrd, system.map, kconfig, config etc files. Spectre script probably uses those files to dig deeper and present report. (see an Ubuntu install) Porteus does not. vulnerable part for mine: CVE-2...
