Porteus 5.0 RC2 bug reports

In XFCE, lots of error information from memory is dumped on to the screen before shut down. I think, this was overcome in Sam's Porteus offering. Neko's overlay-xfce too suffer from this. Please have a look. On choosing Network SSID, cursor is not active in the password window. Both are not really b...

A list will be displayed from many sources for SM Player.. You choose yours and add to queue by clicking o...

neko...Excellent, booted at first attempt. As usual, zstd is really fast. 8 seconds to desktop. I added some modules and made some changes to suit my way of doing things. Built a changes modules from porteus setting centre. Things work perfectly after reboot. Just to compare, I did the same with off...

Porteus v5.0rc1 problems

FFMPEGTHUMBNAILER: P.S.: when using this updated xorg module you'll notice that video thumbnails will not appear anymore, so I recommend updating ffmpegthumbnailer here. Surprised that this little things needs so many libs. guest@porteus:/usr/bin$ ldd ffmpegthumbnailer ./ffmpegthumbnailer: /usr/lib6...

deluge does not work

You will be able to run the entry script from terminal by looking at deluge start script in /usr/bin. There ...

Cinnamon 4.2.3 for Porteus 5.0rc1

jss, Please tell me how permissions to files/directories are created at the first instance and why or how changes are made to them, in a running OS. I tried Porteus-4.0 with zstd compression after merging all user modules into a single file (kernel+core+xorg+xfce+app). It boots okay, but without wire...

2019 Updated Nemesis Base Modules

I follow a straight forward layman's approach. Extract Porteus 000-kernel.xzm, create 'usr' directory, mone 'lib' directory and build module agian. I update, once in 3/6 months.Easy isn't it? [guest@porteus ~]$ uname -a Linux porteus 5.2.4-porteus #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Jul 28 18:14:20 UTC 2019 x86_64 G...

Nemisis-the God of retributive Justice
