neko, I could unpack initrd.zstd , but could not repack by replacing xz by zstd -9 using command given by brokenman. Are you using makeinit script from arch?

Code: Select all

find | cpio -H newc -o | xz --check=crc32 --x86 --lzma2 > /home/guest/Downloads/initrd.zstd
Please post the command.Thanks

Porteus v5.0rc1 problems

bypass the whole makepkg/txz2zxm part
Correct. May be due to loyalty to Mother Slackware.

I build Firefox/Opera directly, works just fine

Thanks neko for k-4.4.243. Shuts down LXDE with no comments in the screen.Quiet really.

Problem with Linux kernels is they make USB disks with FAT32 read only every time if errors are noticed. Real headache. Has to boot into Windows to remove write protect.

Running Porteus on harddisk via GRUB ?!

Dollar sign $ (Variable) The dollar sign before the thing in parenthesis usually refers to a variable. This means that this command is either passing an argument to that variable from a bash script or is getting the value of that variable for something. I think the Dollar sign and upper case are he...

Running Porteus on harddisk via GRUB ?!

I always used to change FOLDER=porteus and cfg file name*, to a name in my installation, in linuxrc. It worked. But as you said, one has to rebuild initrd every time. Can you please post the changes you made in the "search" command for cfg file, in linuxrc.? In grub 2.02, I keep vmlinuz and initrd.x...

In 64 bit version, I didnot face any errors and dock too was fl...

I used evergrren's Blueman module along with Atheros firmware Debian package for wireless cards from qualcom. The difference was a NVM firmware instead of rampatch firmware(nvm_usb_00000302.bin VS rampatch_usb_00000302.bin). The deb package covers all firmwares for Atheros. Please note. https://pkgs...

Neko, Booted your Enlightenment ISO. First impression is very impressive. I have no exposure to this WM. Fonts looked very tiny in Full HD screen. ( good for 20 years old) Windows couldn't be pulled to desired size. May be they are fixed in some cfg file. Great work neko. I shall try your 32 bit. Ho...

Ed_P, a request...since you are able to update USM (always), please make an xzm module, "usm-data>xzm", and share for all Porteus users, once a month. Who ever in need of usm latest data, can use your module. This will put a full stop on "USM" queries. Building new apps may be , another story. Updat...

Managed to lay my hand on Blueman-1.13.1 compiled with Python-3.8 from two sources. An rpm package and one from Ignis Porteus by Evergreen. Blueman- rpm threw some errors failing to get module _blueman. Evergreen's Blueman got the Bluetooth icon in the panel when daemon was running. But "Turn blutoo...
