This refers to v4.0rc1 LxQt. Preferences/LXQt settings/Time and Date; When I selected Timezone, gives out an error message ,"The name org.freedesktop.timedate1 was not provided by any .service file". Used PSC to make xzm for timezone. Though time display is correct, this module generated by psc indu...

2018 Updated Base Modules

ncmprhnsbl, The concept of a "config" folder, perused during boot is a nice addition. I changed timezone from australia and is refelected, but I changed login=root, but still booting into 'guest' mode. Also I added line no 396- touch $wrk/package.out, in pman script. pman works fine. downloads,conve...

3.2.2 migration to 4.0 problem.

Thanks for info, but we use Pen drives with Fat32 fs, so that we can use it in windows and linux. That is why I said, There may be conflict between fat32 and vfat and the way Linux reads and stores file names. Also, fat32 won't accept "system linked library files(plenty in Linux). I set up a partiti...

tevent-1:0.9.34-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
Because , there is a colon. There are many such files with colon. You copy a folder with 20-30 files, ending up with much less. Obviously the module made, won't function.

3.2.2 migration to 4.0 problem.

A blog from CNET: I have a 64GB USB flash drive that suddenly went "write-protected" (read only). It has no tiny little switch to unprotect it, but seeing as there really wasn't anything critical to be lost, I decided that a simple reformat would fix it up. Unfortunately, W7 can't format it because ...

3.2.2 migration to 4.0 problem.

I use maximum 8 characters only for naming, but ISO or many others from the net have very long file names, Since I see error messages while copying to pen drive, on many occasions, I doubted that naming could be the source of trouble. Anyway partitions unconnected with porteus are locked up while co...

3.2.2 migration to 4.0 problem.

Porteus v4.0-Cinnamon - File browsers guest/root usage, has inflicted, quite a bit of damage to some files. They have locked up entire partitions and files as "read only", and this is a new experience with Porteus. A live system need have such strict rules for writing, deleting, renaming etc. Who is ...

neko, 1) It is the function "findDatabase()" in the shell file But, systemd comes into picture quite late only in the boot process. 2)"fatal" error message is evoked, when set up in two different directories in the same partition. I even added a different directory reference in the 'init_conf' to lo...

Why should I download an old ISO (wasting data), when latest base modules are available? If you can upload the init file , I can always boot with the base packages.

ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

Neko, Can you please tell me, where is the reference to FOLDER/DIRECTORY "porteus" in the initrd? I didn't find any reference in linuxrc or init_conf. Or is that part of compiled 'init' script! I would like your offering to search for 'sign file in "aporteus" folder/directory. That would help aporte...

nekosan, In 32/64 bit Kernels from you, the following config informations under 'Performance Monitoring' are missing. CONFIG_MICROCODE=y CONFIG_MICROCODE_INTEL=y CONFIG_MICROCODE_AMD=y CONFIG_MICROCODE_OLD_INTERFACE=y That virtually prevents any update, as Kernel does not load the update tool. In 32...

Neko, 1) you may also add "intel-ucode.img"*, file in /boot/syslinux folder.Edit intrd=/boot/syslinux/intel-ucode.img /boot/syslinux/intrd.xz . Kernel loads the update at boot 0.0 in all distributions, I use. Brokenman suggested, compile of slack build on this as a "cpio" file is not required. [ 0.0...
