sudoers.d Not Working
ALT-F11 and ALT-F12 seem to affect my Porteus panel and windows. Seems to set z-order or focus or something. I found yad in the USM. But before downloading, i updated all the repos. Now it no longer comes up in USM search! And i'm getting: root@porteus:/home/guest# usm -i yad find: `/tmp/xdg-runtime...

sudoers.d Not Working
change the file permissions if you want guest to write to it. chmod 666 /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness Great! That worked. tho it would be cool to solve the sudoers issue. Ed, here's a brightness slider i made that doesn't depend on any background services like Power Manager. Works...

32-bit porteus idles about 170 MB. Pretty great!
Now i can slim down further, by eliminating some background services, like NetworkManager and xfce4-power-manager.
Really seems no advantage to running 64-bit on on 2 GB RAM.

Slim alternative?
thx, happy to participate! i want to see if i can get xfce to idle under 100 MB B) Mainly in interest of low-resource hardware and limited RAM. Porteus is already one of the smallest xfce linux's -- why not take it further? I love puppy linux xtahr, but not real linux-- too hobbyish, unreliable repo...

i noticed i can run the power applet without running the power manager.
so i get brightness slider, just for the price of running the panel applet.
not bad!

Or any simple, tiny image editor (cropping, resizing, etc. NOT a 'paint' program, with advanced brushes etc. Pix is included in Mint, and it's great. It is 3 MB and powerful. https://github.com/linuxmint/pix Mtpaint is another option. i converted on Porteus, but on run, it said: $ mtpaint mtpaint: e...

How to remove guest from sudo group?
awesome! It didn't seem to break the shutdown rights. After the change: $ sudo -l User guest may run the following commands on porteus: (root) NOPASSWD: /usr/lib/xfce4/session/xfsm-shutdown-helper if shutdown-helper is the following dialog, then it's still working. https://i.imgur.com/A6w82JI.png
