Opera 64 (lite version)

Thanks, Ed_P . New version uploaded (same link) including browser.desktop I'm not including a default home page on purpose. This is not the official Porteus module :) The messages you're seeing are also expected. It happens because I removed auto update executable on purpose -- it takes space and do...

Opera 64 (lite version)

Here's the brand new Opera 64, now including a tracking blocker, which is really cool! This lite version is basically the original one, except that I removed the language packs, auto-update and crash report; also, I included support to modern codecs, like H.264: https://www.mediafire.com/file/44x08s...

Porteus Kernel Builder

Kernel 5.4 definitely fixes the black screen issue some users (including me) were facing (more info here). Cool! :)

How to transfer files between pcs on same network

Usually Porteus has Samba working, so you should see Windows networks. Regarding SFTP, yes, it works out of the box for all DEs. But AFAIK it only works between Linux machines.

Modify my XFCE

@MaxP, you can do it using rootcopy folder -- it basically works like this: you copy everything you want using Linux folder structure (examples: etc/X11/file or usr/bin/file) and during the boot Porteus gets these files and copy them to the actual Linux system folders. So the thing is finding out wh...

Wine and multilib latest version

Taking the first error, it seems it's looking for QCOMUTIL.dll. What if you try to rename it to respect this specific case (XXX.yyy)? Show us the file list and the Wine error, please.

Wine and multilib latest version

Hmmm... Is this a .Net application?

Another thing: although Windows is not a case sensitive system, remeber that Linux is, so my tip is: rename everything to lower case.

@ncmprhnsbl, it's weird because what you say makes sense but from my tests it's not necessary. :unknown:

Sure. Or you can run this

Code: Select all

su
toor
sed -i 's|#export VDPAU_DRIVER="nvidia"|export VDPAU_DRIVER="nvidia"|' /etc/profile.d/vdpau.sh
Hmmm... This gave me a good idea to improve our script. I will update it and try to get rid of the vdpau.sh file :)

How to increase mouse cursor refresh rate?

Updated: it works if you have a decent mouse. But be ready for high CPU usages when moving the mouse. This is funny, isn't? Moving a mouse (what can be simpler than that?) can put your modern CPU to the knees. :teehee:

How to increase mouse cursor refresh rate?

Does anyone know how to increase mouse cursor refresh rate? I tried to follow this guide, but I failed when booting with this command (i.e. mouse doesn't work):

Code: Select all

options usbhid mousepoll=4
