I'm using an HP Pavilion ze4300 laptop. After 2 minutes a bar shows up with monitor icon that says 50%. The screen does not get any dimmer. After 3 minutes, the bar shows up saying 12%. Porteus won't wake up from sleep with the keyboard, mouse or touchpad. I have Porteus installed on my hard drive. Waking up works with the Gparted linux.

The buttons and scroll bar on my touch pad don't work. I have been unable to figure out tapping settings that will work consistently. I tried to run synclient and I get the error 'Unable to start Xwindows'. What can I do to get my touch pad to work?

I'm rebuilding and old laptop and I want to install Porteus as the main OS and run windows 98 in VirtualBox. Porteus is not listed as a supported OS on the VirtualBox site. Is it possible to install VirtualBox in Porteus? If so, are there any special requirements?
