bundle - Remmina: Remote Desktop Application for Porteus 5.0rc1
Remmina no longer seems to work with RDP under Porteus 5.0rc2 XFCE using the updated kernel; would you provide an update?

[Solved] No Wifi connection Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY [14e4:4315] (rev 01)
Blaze , I believe I had Wi-Fi operating on my iMac running Porteus 3.2 XFCE, but lost it under 4.0. Under Porteus 5.0rc2 with your updated kernel, I booted "baseonly" with each of your suggested modules, but never had Wi-Fi access. Booted with b43-firmware-classic-5.100.138-1-noarch.xzm in /base, t...

Porteus 5.0 RC2 bug reports
I was mistaken -- when I booted in "Always Fresh", Porteus used data from my main installation (running Porteus 5.0rc1); I've never had network access using rc2.

@ rchase The radio button "Save sessions for future logins" should save open windows so they do re-appear after a reboot. ... P.S. You're right about the radio button correlating with the state of opened windows on the desktop (so I shouldn't call it "non-functional"), but since when I boot with "c...

@ rchase The radio button "Save sessions for future logins" should save open windows so they do re-appear after a reboot. Those sessions are stored in ~/.cache/sessions/ and have nothing to do with changes you make to the system. also the changes=EXIT or changes-ro cheatcode might be of some intere...

Alternative to ePDFViewer
I've not paid much attention to the differences, but I've noticed that scrolling through .pdfs has been generally problematic. What is being displayed shouldn't matter -- at 100% magnification, the entire page should fit within the window and there should be a means of displaying the next page with ...

First, I was going to make a retort, then I decided to repeat the test, as suggested, booting in "Always Fresh" mode. I used: APPEND nomagic base_only norootcopy utc timezone=America/Denver login=root and Porteus booted with network access, both with the original kernel and the updated one. I was ce...

Alternative to ePDFViewer
I'm supposing that ePDFViewer's chiefest virtue is that it is lightweight -- it sure doesn't display .pdfs very well! It treats the Page Down key the same as the down arrow (which alone makes navigation more difficult), but for pages that do not fit the display, the scroll bar reflects the current p...

What's up with Porteus periodically blanking the screen and closing all my applications? It's happened several times recently on more than one computer and in rc1 and rc2; there's no other indication of any fault.

Instead of periodically saying that whatever is respawning too often and will try again in five minutes, couldn't Porteus log me in and issue startx rather than have me do it? This comes up fairly frequently -- it's no great trouble to sign in and type "startx", but it strikes me that not only is th...

I'm bitching about disconnected radio buttons and user friendliness, because disabled networking is one of the consequences of misunderstanding all the ramifications of /changes; to be clear, I took care to delete /changes when I tried Blaze's kernel (and to include 06-crippled-sources and the new v...
