Re: Palemoon/Slimjet alternative?

Hey Fullmoon,
Please as for the daily browser, what are your priorities e.g. benchmarks' scoring, extendability, GUI/shinness, speed/responsivity, security, stability, other point... from the highest to the lowest? Alternatively which browser is presently closest to the one of your dreams?

Re: Palemoon/Slimjet alternative?

They work, I checked it. You removed the brackets? They're used to act on any number of files when you want not to type all the path more than once, on comand line.

Hi!

Note it's a donkey browser. Displays page X fine (screenshot), then not and so on.

Well if the pkg.tar.xz packages get your interest, I'll share 'em with you fullmoon.

Re: Palemoon/Slimjet alternative?

Built the i686 pkgs 'release' mode --not without cemi's advices. Jeeez, webkitfltk-i686 "release" is 11 MB, vs 19.9 MB for the x86_64 "asserts only". Fifth-i686 pkg is 5.2 MB vs 10.3 MB for the x86_64! Will test ASAP --and rebuild the webkitfltk-x86_64 if any improvments happen with the i686 build. ...

Re: Customize your boot (rc.local replacement)

A brief feedback as I tried tune2fs as well. Do you know how to customize fstab on Nemesis? How you do that? I have just tested a changes cheatcode and a modded fstab.....its overwritten. Yes we have no way to use a changes cheatcode and a mod of /etc/fstab to achieve what you want. That's it! It lo...

Re: Palemoon/Slimjet alternative?

Thank you for the precisions cemi Sup folks, Fifth author reporting in. I build a portable x86_64 linux binary for each release, you can download it from the official link, and it should work fine on Porteus. Which one it is, fifth-0.4_glibc-2.7_x86_64.txz of 12.8 MB? (Arch compiled fifth-0.4-1-x86_...

Re: new tutorial and docs stuff

Owdie that's great! Lots of work here! I suggest adding a Get started/What to do with Nemesis upon succesful boot-up. You know, few lines and links to the existing tutos, especialy with the Nemesis specifics as these won't be found elsewhere (think of ***-setup). Anyway, lots of time saved for teste...

Re: Customize your boot (rc.local replacement)

Thanks to aus9 we know how to run our custom commands upon boot-up. Now let's say you want to, say, fsck a local disk upon every 20 mounts for safety. Normaly you'd check fstab and add or edit a line then save, job done. Here fstab is auto-generated at boot-up: $ cat /PATH/TO/CHANGES/etc/fstab # Do ...

Re: Update method of choice: Porteus vs Arch way?

@francois thanks for lecturing us on the available GNU/Linux bootloaders in an thread that exists to document pman (if in the FAQ then show us the way) BTW here's the Copy2tam entry from default Nemesis 3.5: LABEL copy2ram MENU LABEL Copy To RAM KERNEL vmlinuz APPEND initrd=initrd.xz copy2ram ...
