Draco 0.9.0 x86_64 (desktop environment)

Cool. I noticed that they're using just -O2 and -fPIC. My full cmake command line usually goes like this: cmake -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=release -DCMAKE_CXX_FLAGS:STRING="-O2 -m64 -pipe -fPIC" -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr -DCMAKE_INSTALL_LIBDIR=lib64 .. Remember long back you had told me about a -DNDEBUG ...

Draco 0.9.0 x86_64 (desktop environment)

Looks much better now with the icons :good: There's a SlackBuild already in the project's github page - https://github.com/rodlie/draco/tree/master/share/slackware. There are some cmake flags in it. Would make sense to adapt that and add our own optimization flags. Would also result in an installabl...

But, hey, qtfm and obconf-qt are there! Only qt base and x11 (qt5-5.12.3-x86_64-1jss, qt5-qtx11extras-5.12.3-x86_64-1jss) are sufficient. Dont think it uses the svg library. Qtscript is definitely not needed. Missing icon theme. You would need Adwaita and probably hicolor icon themes for icons to be shown. I tried changing theme which is ...

loop number

For every loop[0-n] directories in loop there is a loop/backing_file that shows the activated module. Eg: guest@porteus:~$ cat /sys/block/ loop0/ loop1/ loop2/ loop3/ loop4/ loop5/ loop6/ loop7/ sda/ sdb/ guest@porteus:~$ cat /sys/block/loop0/loop/backing_file /mnt/sda3/test/porteus/base/000-kernel....

ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

From the dracolinux website: Draco is developed for and on Slackware Linux. Interesting. Looks also to be qt5 based. Thanks for the link :good: Would it make sense to create a DE for Porteus? Hi Rava, I checked it, still looks very much at early stages, but looks quite promising. It is a fork of th...

Unable to access partitions

Which fs format do you require, JFS or HPFS? JFS is built as a module. Does it not load when your hard drive is mounted? You can manually modprobe jfs as root and then try to mount. Yes, looks like HPFS is not built. # CONFIG_HPFS_FS is not set Unfortunately you cannot use the crippled_sources.xzm t...

Qt 5.9.1 framework (modular) + Qt Creator 4.3.1

Hi rych , I have created Qt 5.12 packages that are used in our Porteus 5 development. These were built on a much later Slackware current snapshot than that of Qt 5.9.1, so may or may not work for you in your Porteus 4 environment (newer icu, glibc etc). But no harm in giving them a try: http://www.m...

Where do you see it as presently maintained?
Download links seem to be dead. The last supported version it says is for Slackware 9 (2003).

porteus-v4.0-x86_64.cfg ignores changes

In linuxrc, the changes= is searched for in the CFG file before the location of the CFG file is determined. Hence changes= is not found. Offending line in linuxrc: CHANGES=`value changes` value() function itself searches for CFG file existence as if [ -e $CFGDEV/$FOLDER/$CFG ]; then But the $CFGDEV ...
