Porteus-4.0 is in the pipeline.

I had two problems with 20171023 core updates. (where are the ISOs?) with 003 lxde - I only see 001 and 002 updates 1) X config. failed completely (black screen) on a new Radeon laptop ... worked on existing UEFI and legacy BIOS desktops ... BUT ... "always fresh" worked on the new laptop ... so I o...

Re: Porteus-v3.2.2 bug reports here

postby Jack » 02 Jan 2017, 03:45 In Mate 64bit it took 5 min to boot up. And after it did boot up I try to connect with WiFi and it would not let me. So far that the only bug I found. Just took 20 seconds from <enter> choosing option to root copy & load default modules set til LXDE desk top is stab...

Re: Porteus-v3.2rc5 bug reports

Blaze wrote Probably, this issue will be fixed, when Porteus ships with Linux kernel 4.7.3 (with AMDGPU updated drivers) or higer. Thanks for the prompt and helpful diagnosis Blaze, I'm holding my breath for 4.7.3 :unknown: . Would it be an idea to have restrictions topic for problems that will occ...

Re: Porteus-v3.2rc5 bug reports

Cinnamon continues to have trouble from always fresh with Dual screen Radeon/AMD/ATI Render acceleration enabled for R300/R400/R500 type cards. If hardware acceleration is disabled - all works fine (but slowly). On a different PC with single display and Intel integrated graphics all is fine (but scr...

Re: Porteus-v3.2rc3 Bug Reports

I problem resolved, 1 bypassed: 1) if you allow "rootcopy " (omit norootcopy) and have /home/guest (even an empty /home/guest) in your porteus.cfg and use an ntfs or fat32 for your /rootcopy volume (i.e. most thumb drives) then alsa will fail complaining (ONCE) about lock files, thereafter it will n...

Re: Porteus-v3.2rc3 Bug Reports

I have access to two types of PC 1) "always fresh" Intel HD 440: --- twice (out of >10 tests) "Cinnamon has crashed"; then comes back cleanly; --- Rc2 was unconditionally stable 2) "always fresh" Radeon 550: --- Rc2 always looped "Cinnamon has crashed", 2x1280x1020 mode; ---- ctrl-alt-F1 produces fa...

Re: Porteus .sgn file.

I run 2 versions of Porteus (3.01 & 3.1) on 2 different machines (8G Dell Dual Core & HP Quad Core) from 3 memory sticks. Both versions of Porteus work on the older machine. 3.01 worked absolutely on the Quad HP 3.1 requires delay=13 on Quad HP - to avoid "....sgn not found" I do not know the reason...
