Re: LibreOffice-4.1.1.2-x64

Hi, PaulBy, this module is 169MB which is about 30% larger than 110MB module on dl.porteus.org
Is it because of many help languages included?

Re: Poptray Minus for Porteus

Sorry to ressurect old thread, and a bit offtopic, but in the first post you say that you have sdc1 as ext3 and second partition as FAT. I always thought that windows sees only first partition on the USB drive and therefore, it it should see only ext3, complain about damaged or unformatted USB and y...

Google talk plugin for 2.1-final

Available for x64 but not in x32-bit arch. I downloaded .deb from google site, but I do not see gdebi or any other conversion option. Right clicking on it, there is option - convert to module, but it does nothing. Do I need to download and enable dev-tools module for this to work?

VLC 2.x for Porteus 2.1

I used VLC on 2.1rc2 x64. But with release of 2.1 I am trying to switch to x32 arch. VLC 2.x-i486 in needs 100+ MB dependencies and still not able to resolve some of those. What shall a porteus newb do? UPDATE: If installed Qt from PPM. If I install VLC from PPM without dependency resolution, vlc is...

Re: android mobile app for porteus !

There is very useful android app called "drivedroid". It allows you to expose any .img or .iso via usb cable connected from PC to phone. I use it to store img file of porteus puppy ubuntu and android-x86 on my phone, the boot my PC from any of them. It is easier than making multiboot usb and jugglin...

Re: Feedback and Bug Reports for Porteus v2.1 RC2

@fanthom, I found the reason for my problems with USB mounts and suspend. I saved my settings to module, actually 2-3 times. The problem is that modules 2 and 3, can add new files to settings, but not remove the files in the preceding module 1. So, I remove some files and save changes as module 2 - ...

Re: Suspend works only when boot USB stick is pulled out -2.

I tried LXDE,XFCE,Openbox,Mate. All of them wait to suspend until USB sticks is physically pulled out from the USB slot. Strange. In the 2nd USB slot I have wireless mouse transmitter, but it doesn't interfere with suspend.

suspend works only when USB stick is pulled out

Hi, I boot MATE/LXDE/XFCE from USB with copy2ram params, no save file. If USB is mounted, or even unmounted (but physically still inside USB slot) suspend doesn't work - or, actually, looks like nothing happens, but when I pull out USB stick, laptop immediately suspends. Is that by design? Another, ...

Re: Suspend works only when boot USB stick is pulled out -2.

Hi, phantom. I will try other DE. Can you elaborate why persistence information is written to .dat files instead of xzm's? I think Puppy Linux is doing exactly this - they save compressed squashfs images (sfs files) on shutdown. Instead of writing/reading thousands of files, only one compressed imag...
