[HOWTO] How to switch WM session

Hello, I recently installed i3wm on Nemesis v3.5 (LXDE) but I am having troubles logging to the i3 wm. Currently I have to boot Nemesis with "noload=003-lxde.xzm" and when at a command prompt, login in as guest then type startx to get in to i3. That way works fine, but I would like to keep LXDE and ...

Re: Bug reports

Really impressed how well Nemesis is running! With concern to the network setup, if the network has a space in the name (i.e. "My Wireless") the setup will display that as two networks: 1) My 2) Wireless The old xpns-tool also had this issue but a work around was using pns-tool cli utility which wor...

Re: The future of Porteus

Hello, I have been around the Linux live scene since the early days of Slax. While there are hundreds of great distro's out there I have always felt a live edition is great tool. Unfortunately, recent years slackware based distros cause too much frustration when a needed application is not supported...

how to make xset persistent [SOLVED]

Hello,

Currently my system is Porteus-3.0.1 and using XFCE. I use magic folders set to "/home/guest" to keep persistence and all else are saved to modules. Every boot-up I have to run "xset s off" to turn off screen saver. Is there a way to save configuration as a module?

Regards

Re: Feedback for Porteus version 2.0 RC2

Hello Ahau,

Thanks, your suggestions did the trick.

Code: Select all

su
#enter root password
rmmod floppy
This did remove the icon. Then I went into the BIOS and removed the floppy and now no more phantom icon.

Thanks for the help...

Re: Feedback for Porteus version 2.0 RC2

@Ahau Sorry I haven't had a chance to run on another PC yet but will try when I get access. When I try to mount the phantom drive it gives the following error: http://i49.tinypic.com/14vs40m.jpg Failed to mount "Floppy Disk" DBus error org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor.Failed: An operation is alre...

Re: Feedback for Porteus version 2.0 RC2

I am using XFCE 64-bit v2rc2 and noticed that the floppy disk is showing in the removable drives area. I don't have a floppy disk drive? I believe this also was true in v2rc1 but v1.2 displayed properly.

Here is a screen shot: http://i47.tinypic.com/309m2x3.png

Re: Porteus-XCFE v1.2 rc2 x86_64 is ready for testing!

Hello, I think I found some problems with magic folders in v1.2r2 XFCE edition. When I set up magic folders to store my /home/guest/.config to an EXT2 partition and reboot, XFCE starts with a message saying it is the first time panel is running and to select default or blank panel. I have previously...

Re: FreeRDP Version 1.0.0

Thanks for the upgraded FreeRDP!

Unfortunately I have found a problem when using plugins. FreeRDP looks in the /usr/lib directory for plugins and I believe it should be in the /usr/lib64 instead?

Best regards!

FreeRDP Version 1.0.0

Hello, I am searching for a FreeRDP version 1.0.0 x86_64 module. Version 1.0.0 is huge improvement over 0.8.2, which is in our repo. I found an i486 slackware package here ( http://miracle.rpz.name/shared/slack/freerdp/ ) but would prefer to have a 64bit package. I also tried to modify the 0.8.2 sla...

Re: Porteus-v1.0-rc2-x86 "So close to the FINAL..."

Hello, I think I may have found a bug in rc2. psswd.xzm is not saving on both my frugal install to HDD and USB. In rc1 this worked fine though. I am using "from_dev=/dev/sda1 from_dir=/x/p32v10r2" in my boot configurations. I have noticed after I set new passwords that it reports to have saved to "/...

Re: Porteus-v1.0-rc1-x86 ready for testing

Thanks for the excelent V1.0rc1... I currently remove the (Trinity) 004-KDE, 005-kdeapps and 006-koffice as I like the LXDE experience. The one thing that is missing is mplayer. Is it possible to get Fanthoms mplayer with VDPAU & XVBA stuff separated from the KDE modules? When I do removepkg for kde...
