Re: Avoid Porteus-installer-for-Linux.com on MS filesystems?

my guess is fedora mounts stuff in run/'user'/media or something like that.. arch and some porteus do too You are exactly correct. Fedora does mount non-system devices in /run/media/$USER. Maybe that is what caused the problem? But I also found something wrong with the script itself - Kwrite report...

Re: Feedback and Bug Reports for Porteus v2.1 RC2

[Porteus 2.1 RC2 lxde, 32bit]parcellite is causing troubles to pcmanfm Hi, Here I've got some awkward experiences with copying/moving files with PCmanFM Once the clipboard program parcellite is running and holding contents, the filemanager pcmanfm will fail to copy/move any files. I also noted that ...

[2.1 RC2]parcellite is causing troubles to pcmanfm

Hi,

A bug was found in porteus 2.1 RC2 lxde desktop.

Once the clipboard program parcellite is running and holding contents, the filemanager pcmanfm will fail to copy/move any files.
To kill parcellite or to clean up the clipboard contents will make pcmanfm function normally.

Svd.Avoid Porteus-installer-for-Linux.com on MS filesystems?

Hi, The Porteus-installer-for-Linux.com script does not seem to work very well using Fedora (18 or 19) :-( probably because of not supporting MS (or M$) filesystems (I remember that chgrp reported an error message). The script finally returned error code 4. (Unfortunately I accidentally deleted the ...

Re: Porteus won't boot on ntfs driver?

A bad news came when I used the command in windows 7 convert h: /fs:ntfs (where h: is for my flash stick) and applied the porteus install for windows, it failed to boot again. And this time, I even couldn't see the vesamenu!(but a line that read 'Syslinux ...' instead) May be I'd better give up an n...

Re: Where are the disk icons in the side column of thunar?

I am such a newbie that creating shortcuts seems the best solution for me. :)
(Can I write an shell script for this?)

Thank you all the same!

This sounds like a fallback solution. :
But will porteus team make an announcement for this drawback in the future release?

SOLVED.Where are the disk icons in the side column of thunar

Hi, I am confused that thunar doesn't have disk icons shown in the side column as dolphin (of KDE4) and PCmanFM (of LXDE) do(or does?). This is pretty annoying because I have to navigate to /mnt all the time to explore my disk contents. How can I make the disk icons available in the side column of t...

I doubt it. I can't risk my data security since I've formatted the disk for quite many times.

Re: Porteus won't boot on ntfs driver?

It WORKS this time after I format my Lenovo flash disk as fat32.
But the problem remains: Porteus DID work on ntfs device before. How come it failed in my case?

Porteus won't boot on ntfs driver?

It's strange, porteus USED to boot smoothly on my Lenovo flash disk (fomatted as ntfs). But today I could only get a vesamenu and "Loading vmlinuz..." The following "starting live-init" just disappered and then the machine rebooted. I test porteus on another flash stick (kingston data traveller, for...
