Network card recognized but no traffic possible

04:0b.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8110SC/8169SC Gigabit Ethernet (rev 10) Is recognized by Porteus v3.2.2 but data traffic on this device isn't possible. It sees if the cable is connected and is trying to get an IP-address but it fails. It keeps trying but never gets a...

Nvidia drivers for Porteus 3.2 rc5

The Nvidia drivers on dl.porteus.org seems not to be compatible with the latest Porteus version. Downloading the latest nvidia package from USM seems not to be recognized or working. Maybe something extra is needed to make it work? The Nvidia .run file can't be used because I use pxe boot for all cl...

Re: no audio in rdp

I use the XFCE version of porteus. And what I try to connect is a Windows Terminal Server. But that is the only thing you can connect with the named tools xfreerdp and rdesktop.

no audio in rdp

Upgraded Porteus to the latest version Porteus-v3.2rc5 with kerenel 4.7.2 but audio works within porteus but not within a terminal session. It doesn't mater if I use rdesktop or xfreerdp. Same result. rdesktop: ALSA lib pcm.c:2266:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM pulse ERROR: snd_pcm_open: No suc...

Re: google-chrome (38.0+) stable

Tnx works perfectly. Only the print module is required then running chrome with this package. But that is not really a problem. The image is only 70Mb bigger..

xfreerdp 1.2.0 / freerdp 1.2.0

Has anyone build yet a new version of (x)freerdp for porteus? 1.1.0 or newer? Of course the latest version is prefered.
rdesktop has not all possibilities and the version included in porteus is really old.

rdesktop 1.8.3

The version of rdesktop included in porteus is really old! And full of bugs.
Has anyone build a recent version of rdesktop (version 1.8.3) ?

Mounting point seems to change

I changed the mount point in /sbin/udev-fstab-update by changing the 'MNTPT' variable to /media/$DEVICE The first few mounts after booting doesn't give a problem. But when unsave removing a usb stick and plug it back, you first get a few error messages and prompt that root permissions are requered, ...

[Solved] Re: Euro sign

Fixed it with also defining the keyboard layout to the xfreerdp commandline string. Tnx
Btw what also was an issue was that the folder /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu wasn't in /etc/ld.so.conf
Not all libs requered for xfreerdp where loaded.

Re: Changing mount point

Folder isn't removed after removing the removable media. The script looks right and seems to use the MNTPT variable. Also mounting of removable media is successful. Also when booting with the cheatcode nohd and the variable is changed to /media the folder for the HD is created but not mounted. When ...

Re: Euro sign

Is there a pretty way to setxkbmap -rules xorg -layout "us" -variant "intl" Don't tested yet if all keys are correct but something like this seems to solve the problem. I mean can this command also be formated with the kmap cheatcode? Now I use cliexec ore guiexec works the same but is a little long...
