I've been using Puppy linux for the last 2 years but have been using Porteus for the last week. It's hard to stop, everything just works and it looks good. Anyway, I noticed that my puppy files showed a generic icon and wanted to change that. After hours of searching and failing it was actually this...

Clock-Style for XFCE - change digital clock font and color
It's been a while since I've used Porteus but I have to say v3.0 is very nice. Here's an app made by myself and Puppy/Porteus forum member Geoffrey to change the clock (digital only) font and color. Menu entry is in Settings and it requires yad. http://carolina-linux.com/rg66/porteus/images/clock-st...

Re: copy 2 ram (copy 1 folder from USB to desktop)
This is probably best answered by someone with more experience but I'll give it a go anyway. 1. You could extract, as an example, the 0090-xfce.xzm and make a symlink in /root/Desktop to your folder on the usb drive and then re compress it. But, if your usb device is mnt/sdc1 on one comp it could be...

Re: how to change the default xfce login wallpaper?
To change Xfce splash go to app menu > Settings > Session and Startup. Click on "Splash" tab and then "configure" and check "use custom image", click the folder field below and choose an image.

Re: Porteus-v2.0-i486 bug reports
I'm running from a USB install at the moment on the same comp and the apps are opening from the app menu. So, it must be something with my frugal install. I'm still going to try a frugal on another fresh comp (no other OS) an see what happens but I expect all will be ok. Thanks to everyone for the h...

Re: Porteus-v2.0-i486 bug reports
@Hamza I've tried a few different way and always the same. Always fresh or savefile doesn't make a difference. The only thing I've appended is login= and changes=. I'm running a frugal install of 32 bit if that matters but also have about 8 puppies in frugal as well with grub4dos, maybe that has som...

Re: Porteus-v2.0-i486 bug reports
I have found some more issue with v2.0 Xfce, there are some missing scripts from /opt/porteus-scripts/xfce. So far I've found create-module, extract-module, mount and unmount-module to be missing. Also the custom action commands path is /opt/porteus-scripts/fmanager which doesn't exist and v1.2 path...

Re: Porteus-v2.0-i486 bug reports
Nice job on the Xfce version. This is not really a bug but in Xfce Mount drives, Porteus Settings Centre, and Porteus System Info are not executing from the app menu. The .desktop files needed to be edited for them to work properly.
