Apparently Opera, and Chrome, dropped support for .swf files on the hard drive a yr or 2 ago. To play them they need to be referenced in a webpage. There is an Adobe app that will play them but it only runs in Windows, or wine. :( And the problem gets worst, in 2020 Adobe is dropping Flash altogethe...

now the question is: why?? why does cinnamon suddenly recognise the exact same opera.desktop? Cause now it's in /usr/share/applications/? i think, opera is based on chromium webengine nowdays, so pepperflash might work.. The pepperflash plugin does the trick. :good: But it doesn't show in Opera Ext...

:) the crux of your problem is this "Without adding anything to it". And is that "it" your Windows box, your Linux one or both? The Windows 7 box. It works as is with Windows 10. From Linux you should be able to access that share via "mount -t cifs ..." and upload to it without adding anything to ei...

:lol: Because burdi01 I can transfer files to it when I boot to Windows on my notebook. And IMO if I can do it in Windows I should be able to do it in Linux. Without adding anything to it. ;)
