Porteus gone great

Been away from Porteus quite a while and now I installed 2.1 on a laptop and wow! I am amazed, you've done a great job! :)

I tried to install VLC from Slackware sources via Package Manager on a 32 bit system, but it failed. I think it couldn't resolve libass.so.4 in the end (don't remember exactly). I have a uge library of movies made in M4V format and the players included in Porteus can't play m4v. Maybe with some twea...

Place these two files in your porteus/modules folder. Reboot and you will find VLC in the startup menu. Great, then I'm on right track. Thanks for the info!
They will boot up with a USB, be used for music, video and social stuff. But the power can be pulled anytime.
No need for saved preferences so this will be perfect.

Pulling the power cord?

Hi all,

if I run in fresh mode, will the computer start like normal if I pull the power cord?
I need to make a few boxes that must handle that the power is going the hard way, and I assume that the OS will handle that if running in Fresh Mode. Is my assumption correct?
