Not recommended to defrag an SSD.

Tested many defrag-tools in the past, but only one worked(forgot the name).
Just use ext4 partition(you do not need to defrag the disk).

PorteuX data not found

The ISOs are on Windows 11 NTFS drives on both systems, and on the Dell boot with: I dont use windows for many years. W11 with active-Bitlocker may influence the iso boot process and Most files(particular ISOs) need to be contiguous (in sequential sectors/clusters on the disk), that file may not bo...

I think your problem is "search -f $iso --set=root".
I use UUID and porteux/s.iso work fine.

I checked the install instructions and initially did the script one but it didn't boot so i put the iso there using a flasher with intent to use the installer to then install it on another USB key, but to no avail. I think HP Elitebook 850 G4 is already support uefi. - Turn off secureboot - Turn of...

Porteus added to Grub menu, not so "easy"

@ rych, Those who boot from .iso, is it because you can't have an ext4 partition? In my case, I use only grub2 in EXT4 to boot all ISOs(1st part.) and frugal installations(2nd part.). You dont need any vFat or NTFS in legacy bios machine(I dont use windows anymore). If you have uefi machine, you ne...

Porteus added to Grub menu, not so "easy"

You can put the iso file in any partition you want and boot directly from iso. Using UUID is most accurate. menuentry " porteus/x " { set isofile="/*.iso" search --no-floppy --file --set=root UUID loopback loop $isofile linux (loop)/boot/syslinux/vmlinuz from=$isofile changes=/ initrd (loop)/boot/sy...

Include a very tiny savefile?

This way, since Porteus finds a savefile automatically if not instructed to do so otherwise, those who don't take the time to use the Porteus SaveFile Manager, won't lose their desktop session setting tweaks, and possibly the addition of a browser download upon first reboot. You can stop the save-s...

Mozilla Firefox 134.0-1 is matched.

If I open the Librewolf browser and click help/about Librewolf, it shows v.129.0.2-1 why?
