Re: Is Touchscreen Support Possible?

I don't know about the kiosk edition but regular porteus works with most (USB) touch screens with no configuration at all.

Re: Porteus-ARM for the Raspberry Pi

When you say you copied /lib to /porteus/lib, do you mean you copied another OS's lib files into /porteus/rootcopy/lib? Yes that's exactly what I mean, sorry should have been more clear. I copied the stock raspian or whatever /lib into the /porteus/rootcopy/ folder and it got past that message but ...

Re: Porteus-ARM for the Raspberry Pi

Perhaps I did it wrong but adding the debug cheat code doesn't seem to do anything at all. In fact no cheat codes seem to work, I tried a couple just to see. I did copy my /lib folder to /porteus/lib/ and got further along, it even tried to start X but failed there, and wouldn't give me a virtual te...

Re: Porteus-ARM for the Raspberry Pi

It got all the way to "Live system is now ready - starting Porteus" but then it stopped at:

I'm playing with it a bit more now, will let you know if I find anything.

Re: Cubieboard better than Raspberry Pi (ARM Porteus needed)

After discussion with the guys at work I've slimmed my list down to: 1x Raspberry pi ( Model B 512MB version - http://adafruit.com/products/998 ) 1x BeagleBone ( black version ) 1x ODROID-X ( http://www.hardkernel.com/renewal_2011/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G133999328931 ) 1x CuBox ( http://solid...

Re: Cubieboard better than Raspberry Pi (ARM Porteus needed)

At work we do a lot of hardware evaluations so they aren't technically mine but we can do anything we want with them now.

I'm totally game to do the Pi first, if your game for the beaglebone second :)

Re: Cubieboard better than Raspberry Pi (ARM Porteus needed)

So what we'd need is an army of folks with their own ARM hardware, either willing to custom patch, compile and install their own kernels or willing to continually try precompiled binaries from me, telling me what happens, and waiting for me to reconfigure and get it right (I had to build the versat...

Posted after 1 day 11 hours 50 minutes 39 seconds: Nothing seems to work, I've tried many different distros. I guess it could be hardware failure (this i...

Re: i915 blackscreen

Thanks for the help! I'm focusing on computer C at the moment (since I had to ship out the other two, I'll get them back next week). I've got a bit more info, I plugged in a second monitor to the VGA port and when the built in screen goes blank on udev it switches to the second monitor for the conso...
