Conky anyone?

btw, i've used pidof like this: if [ "$(pidof conky)" ]; then if it's not running there's a non zero returncode.. here's my somewhat more complicated tool that switches between configs and adjusts some entries.. (note, that whenever the conky.conf is edited, while conky is running, it detects this a...

How to install all missed libs?

try: (as root) getpkg xcb-util-wm xcb-util-renderutil xcb-util-keysyms xcb-util-image this produce modules for each of these in the designated folder(make sure to choose a POSIX filesystem for this) and move them to porteus/modules folder (or somewhere else safe outside the live system) and activate...

changes not saved on EXIT or by dump-session

i could be completely wrong, but .. maybe, try "changes=EXIT:/dev/<your device>/porteus/" or even "changes=EXIT:/dev/<your device>/porteus/<name of changes folder>" ie. full path
somebody who actually uses change=EXIT: , might have a better idea..

.. what does cat /mnt/live/tmp/changes-exit give?

RPM2XZM fails to make a XZM file

@ncmprhnsbl It did throw the "gtkdialog.py: command not found" even with the updated scripts, but built, and also built using the rpm2txz command. Editing the rpm2xzm script to use the full path gives the gtkdialog popup on completion. EDIT: I see why the updated scripts don't make a difference.......

RPM2XZM fails to make a XZM file

seems to be a couple of different things going on there.. first, grab this module of updated scripts for 5.0rc2, which should fix : "/usr/bin/rpm2xzm: line 102: gtkdialog.py: command not found" part. 09-pscripts-RC2-20210326.xzm ( Porteus 5.0 RC2 bug reports (Post by ncmprhnsbl #78128) ) bit hard t...

looks like leafpad needs to be built with this patch: https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/?id=2a58c0bbe20e4e31e68f826fa0197deb7ea91f9a edit: and looking at the source of l3afpad, something similiar might be relevant there too.. i'm guessing the remaining data is physically still on the ...

the correct /etc/slackware-version for porteus 4 should be Slackware 14.2+ as for the error with slacky repo/checksums: see here : usm error (Post by donald #81953) basicly: "remove slacky from the DISTROS line: DISTROS="slackware slackwarepatches salix alien ponce slackonly" in /etc/usm/usm.conf" ...

I'll take a look at that thread. Maybe it will lead me to a bin file that I can just drop in to /modules. Thanks. with linux, hardware drivers and the like are mostly in the kernel.. the good news is: changing a kernel in porteus is relatively simple. 1. choose a kernel form this topic: Porteus Ker...
