Gimp-2.10.4 for Porteus 4.0

bumped versions to gimp-2.10.4 gegl-0.4.4 babl-0.1.52 and added a slimmer version: 8.5 MB see first post for links and details The 2.10.2 gimp seems to be quite the massive one, compared to the older version. I tried to slim it down, but to almost no avail. Does anyone know why that is? one reason i...

ImportError: No module named gi

i have it working with these packages from slackware current repos:
scanmem-0.16-x86_64-3_slonly.txz
pygobject3-3.28.3-x86_64-1.txz

ImportError: No module named gi

check /var/log/packages for what is already installed(before you start) eg. python-2.7, gtk+3, polkit are part of the base modules.. ImportError: No module named gi generally means you need package: gobject-introspection lxqt-policykit-0.11.0-i486-bundle.xzm package installed. I'm not sure if you ne...

teach this stupid guy how to download from your Dropbox page :D
there is a Download button at the top right>dropdown menu appears>choose Direct download (don't click on the ignis folder: this just shows the contents of the tar.gz) :D

Porteus-v4.0 bug reports

I am unable to access any of the DVD menu, Porteus-v4.0 bug reports (Post by ncmprhnsbl #65191) yeah, the --enable-dvdnav configure option is probably pointless.. , nor is any sound played. mpv does report a sound available: this should show available audio tracks, clicking on it cycles through the...

gcc-gfortran for porteus v4.0

i would use the slackware current version since it requires gcc.. (hopefully there haven't been any incompatible changes since release)
tip: you can use: # getpkg gcc-fortran command which will download the package directly from slackware current repo..

2018 Updated Nemesis Base Modules

hi beny, what's your video card/driver? i don't think init3 cheatcode will work, because xfce autologin is done using openrc via /etc/conf.d/agetty.tty1 and ~/.bash_profile (in the xfce module) see: Starting a DM with openrc (Post by ncmprhnsbl #58946) one way around this might be to make module wit...

Porteus-v4.0 bug reports

new problem (scenario) ..... this sounds like something that came up in cinnamon or mate, and had to do with login shells or something.. long story short: thunar roots' .desktop Exec line needs : gksu -l hopefully, this then carries over to mousepad and creates the correct(root) user dconf/xdg file...

Porteus-v4.0 bug reports

Maybe adding the gnome-mpv front end isn't a bad idea to get a bit of comfort. so far, i havn't had any joy getting gnome-mpv to work in xfce, either by extracting jssouzas from cinnamon or compiling a fresh version.. getting segfault crash on startup: $ gnome-mpv Non-C locale detected. This is not...
