Printer Brother DCP-J4110DW

Here you can post about the issues related to modifications performed manually (not through the kiosk wizard). Example: swapped kernel, added 3rd party modules or files.
Please describe in detail what has been changed and hopefully other kiosk user will be able to help.
Porteus team wont resolve bugs posted in this category as we support only modifications made by the kiosk wizard.

Printer Brother DCP-J4110DW

Post#1 by Peter1905 » 10 May 2017, 12:55

I want to use Porteus Kiosk 4.3.0 but need to include my Brother DCP-J4110DW Printer (connected via USB) / DCP-J4110DW Printer WLAN (same printer connected via WLAN) which is not in the list of printers during Koisk installation.

Thanks. I read the FAQ before. But: There is no PPD for the printer DCP-J4110DW on Brother's website, because ist seems the printer is not able for postscript.
What I can get there is LPR printer driver (deb package) and CUPSwrapper printer driver (deb package). How to implement that into Porteus Kiosk?

Hello Peter,

Just checked and PPD is included in the cupswrapper package. Unfortunately there are some utils included which are 32bit only.
I guess a customized build service is your best choice to get this driver working in kiosk.

Thanks
