Computer Lockup with VLC - Cinnamon v3.2.2 bug?

Cinnamon 64 v3.2.2

vlc-np-2.2.2x86_64-alldesktops-1bundle.xzm

http://ftp.nluug.nl/os/Linux/distr/port ... t/bundles/

Not sure if this is a bug that anyone else can confirm but if i try and save preference settings in VLC i get a complete lockup that the only option is to hard power off?

I tried the latest AppImage VLC-3.0.0 version instead and it does the exact same thing.

It turns out i'm not going to need VLC after all. :)

I thought i had a problem with Gnome-Mplayer not playing some of the latest MKV files but it turns out it didn't like the folder name on my NTFS media drive , i renamed the folder and removed a # symbol and then they all played perfectly , i didn't realise that a character in the folder name could cause so much trouble.
