Upgrading 05-devel

Post#1 by ncmprhnsbl » 22 Dec 2016, 04:15

i've had an attempt at updating 005-devel ..
some hurdles to overcome:
1. there is no /var/lib/pacman/local , so some guesswork needed to figure whats needed, mainly looking at base-devel packages(and eliminating those already in core)
2. there is a top level directory "include" .. is this normal? /usr/include is there as normal..
3. do i need the kernel headers from 3.2.1 / 4.8.11 ?

Maybe devel module is included in the july nemesis into 000-kernel, as there was no accompanying devel module for this last version. This is really a guess, jay is the man that will provide the answer.

kernel headers under manjaro:

Code: Select all

root@porteus:~/Downloads# uname -a
Linux porteus 3.17.4-porteus #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 12 12:48:28 Local time zone must be set-- x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
sudo pacman -S linux31-headers

kernel headers archlinux with KDMS:
https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/ ... 6ac-driverHow about:
manjaro tool to manage kernel with a gui, which seems pretty much useful:
https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?titl ... gs_Manager

Sorry if I am not really on topic.

hi, ncmprhnsbl i have an arch running on a sd card,so if you want a list of the files i can make it,i have xfce4 and kde 5 running on, arch have: base, base-devel,kernel,you can list the files that you need to change...maybe i think.. ps: no aufs inside, a whole arch installation.

hi beny, i also have a full arch install(obarun>arch using runit init, to be exact), but this isnt any great advantage in this case... nemesis is quite capable of finding and getting base-devel packages itself..some of which are already in 000-core.xzm..
heres the list i've got so far ( basicly base-devel minus the pkgs already in 000-core.xzm)

Code: Select all

.
..
autoconf-2.69-4-any.pkg.tar.xz
automake-1.15-2-any.pkg.tar.xz
binutils-2.27-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
bison-3.0.4-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
cmake-3.6.3-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
fakeroot-1.21-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
flex-2.6.1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
gc-7.6.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
gcc-6.2.1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
git-2.10.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
groff-1.22.3-7-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
guile-2.0.13-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
jsoncpp-1.7.7-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
libmpc-1.0.3-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
m4-1.4.17-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
make-4.2.1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
perl-error-0.17024-1-any.pkg.tar.xz
pkg-config-0.29.1-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
next, i will try to build 05-devel from scratch, rather than trying to upgrade the existing one, which *might* give me a better idea whats missing
