I can run mode text , but when startx then kernel panic
I test other kernels , including 3.19-rc7 and nothing
I test slackware-current full install and nothing

The only one linux at the moment can start is ubuntu vivid.

Bad kernel config?
Need a xorg update?
A kernel patch?

Sorry for my bad english

hi usernew,

i think our components are too old for this card. you are out of luck till new release i'm afraid.
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

finally ITS A KERNEL BUG

after test all the 3.19-rc series no lucky

But , WoW , 3.19 STABLE FIXED

I dont know if the patch aplied to other kernel series ... but 3.19.0 works perfectly now in the same system , only changed kernel to 3.19.0 stable

Thanks.

Glad to see it. The kernels seem to move quickly nowadays. More advanced hardware is added without much delay.

I noticed something else in your log. Does your audio work too?

remember , porteus never start with 3.17.4

my personal config have Y , in the sugested config

you see this messages ..

snd_hda_intel 0000:01:00.1: Consider building the kernel with CONFIG_SND_DYNAMIC_MINORS=y

I configure the opcion whit CONFIG_SND_DYNAMIC_MINORS=y

i think this opcion is used by the kernel when some card have more than 1 hdmi ... like 2 or 3 hdmi coneectors , then detect all hdmi like a soundcard

minors i think is reduced , disabling load de module into the unused hdmi conectors.

or hdmi x 2 , or because have hdmi x2 + displayports

in some case , i put Y , on CONFIG_SND_DYNAMIC_MINORS option.

_____________________________________________________________________________

little search on google pointed to dynamic number of soundcard , .. my system have

2 x hdmi
1 displayport
1 minidisplayport
motherboard soundcard
pci dedicated x-fi sound card

is related whit too sound conecctions i think
