Could Not Establish Network Connection

Porteus Kiosk - Just downloaded the Kiosk Wizard, it sets up correctly, downloads the required files, installs as requested. On reboot the WiFi does not work with the helpful message of "Could Not Establish Network Connection".

Can't imagine where to even start since the wizard connects without issue.

hi vyren,

really weird as i have especially designed kiosk to test network connection prior to kiosk installation.
any chance you could run any live linux on this PC (could be Porteus desktop edition) -> run 'lspci -knn' command and send me the output?
would be also great if you could backup your kiosk and upload it somewhere and send me download link on support@porteus-kiosk.org:

Code: Select all

dd if=/dev/sdX1 of=kiosk-backup.iso
where /dev/sdX is the device where kiosk was installed.

thanks
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

I have two identical units, both are exhibiting the same behavior. The wireless receiver is a USB device, I wonder if it is this Roswell RNX-N150HG causing issues...So odd that it works perfectly in the Wizard.

I re-started the entire process, with the same result. Wizard works great, downloads and installs to the USB thumb drive. Thumb drive boots, gives the informational message at the top of the screen (Something like "Establishing network connection this may take a few minutes"), that disappears and roughly a minute later the error message of "Could Not Establish Network Connection" appears.

The ISO link will be e-mailed shortly. Here is the output you requested:
