@brokenman
The option "German" without any variant, this was meant by "basic"
a German keyboard has a qwertz layout.

Lxqt. -from feedback thread:
shouldn't there be a "Super User Mode - PCManFM File Manager" under System Tools ?
unfortunately opening pcmanfm-qt in su mode from guest session does not work for me. will check how guys resolved this in 3.0.1
dont know if this is correct, but it seems to work ok

Code: Select all

@ncmprhnsbl
will create a wrapper for ktsuss so it will always use 'dbus-launch'. hopefully it wont break anything :)

thanks a lot

Thanks. Going there, I just realized, gtkrc and all files in assets/ (that are: svg and png files) are set to 0775/-rwxrwxr-x :(

I think they not need to be executable?
I presume, it would be better to set them to "0644" :)
Cheers!

Yes Rava this would be best.

Thanks Tome. I will check it out. Does sudo accept them for you?

EDIT:
Tome I just changed my password to use special characters for both first and last characters and it worked fine. It did lead me to find a rather large bug in the modified gnsu which I will patch. Thanks.

LXQt x86_64

The KPatience module doesn't work. kpat-4.10.5-x86_64-bundle.xzm An entry in LXQt menu's Games but it doesn't work.

bashcheck.sh shows errors in security:

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ bashcheck.sh
Testing /usr/bin/bash ...
GNU bash, version 4.2.48(2)-release (x86_64-slackware-linux-gnu)

Variable function parser active, maybe vulnerable to unknown parser bugs
Not vulnerable to CVE-2014-6271 (original shellshock)
Not vulnerable to CVE-2014-7169 (taviso bug)
Vulnerable to CVE-2014-7186 (redir_stack bug)
Test for CVE-2014-7187 not reliable without address sanitizer
Vulnerable to CVE-2014-6277 (lcamtuf bug #1)
Vulnerable to CVE-2014-6278 (lcamtuf bug #2)

spaceFM's bookmarks can be used by PCManFM by copying the /home/guest/.config/spacefm/bookmarks file to /home/guest/.gtk-bookmarks.

PCManFM's Places includes an entry for Network which connects to network:/// and hangs. If no network an error msg stating such would be nice.

RajorQT's Home and System Desktop icons don't work LXQt.

Still unable to get FireFox to process Linksys router's Cisco Guest account signin password. Running FireFox with Add-ons Disabled no help. Changing the Guest Account's password no help. The signon works with 3.0's FireFox module.

Issues continue with the lid closed / reopened scenario.

Tome I will replace gnsu with gksu as I finally got it working for 32bit which was stopping me swapping. Checked and working with special characters. Thanks.

"The KPatience module doesn't work."
kpatience wont run without kde4 libraries

"bashcheck.sh shows errors in security"
we rely on upstream for this and Pat has probably a reason to think that this version of bash is enough

"PCManFM's Places includes an entry for Network which connects to network:/// and hangs. If no network an error msg stating such would be nice."
dont know how to code such message. adding samba should solve this but will also check how this problem is resolved in other distros.

"RajorQT's Home and System Desktop icons don't work LXQt."
we use pcmanfm in lxqt so you may edit /Desktop/*.desktop files and replace spacefm with it.

"Still unable to get FireFox to process Linksys router's Cisco Guest account signin password."
i really doubt it's related to firefox version. rather some firefox settings got messed up. try under opera/chrome and in case of success try firefox in 'always fresh' mode.

"Issues continue with the lid closed / reopened scenario."
last time xscreensaver was not configured correctly:
I open the screensaver function, set the time for 5 mins, close the lid, and go aways for a couple of hours.
I return, open the lid, there is no screensaver running and the desktop is displayed.

so please try getting it to work first (make sure it launches after specified time).

thanks

The module, built with USM under 3.0.1 thus includes it's dependencies, works with 3.0.1.

duh Not a big deal for me, just letting you know other users who upgrade from RazorQT may run into this.

Ed_P please start kpatience from a terminal and report any error output.

Users should not think of the move to lxqt as an upgrade from razorqt. I wouldn't expect simply transferring settings from razorqt to lxqt to work in all (read most) cases.

Problem exists with Always Fresh mode of Porteus and FireFox Add-ons Disabled mode. I will try opera/chrome later. In AF mode at this point.

hmmmm An interesting point brokenman. I think the "QT" part of the names may lead some (me) to think that. Might be worth a brief blurb when the new release comes out.
Ed_P please start kpatience from a terminal and report any error output.
That may take me a bit. I'm in AF mode, have activated the kpat module and have no idea where it is at this point.

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ kpatience
bash: kpatience: command not found
guest@porteus:~$ Kpatience
bash: Kpatience: command not found
guest@porteus:~$ kpat
kpat: error while loading shared libraries: libqca.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
guest@porteus:~$
libqca.so.2 part of RazorQT??

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/# usm -s libqca.so.2

 -----------------------------
Are you searching for a library file?

libqca.so.2, it seems a library.
Would you like to find the package for it? [y/n]

 libqca.so.2 was found in qca-2.0.2-x86_64-1.txz
When I get a chance I will boot into lxqt and see why qca is being picked up as a dependency.
