Citrix Receiver 13.0

Post#1 by brokenman » 15 Jun 2014, 17:04

Log into any citrix server via browser or built in GUI. This was created and tested under Porteus v3.0 MATE but should also run on KDE.

@ghicksrn:
Can you tell me what options you used for the base to get this running? I've tried a few times to get this running, but receiver doesn't seem to start. I'm sure I'm probably missing something simple, but an example would help.
Thanks,
Jon

Are you running this from Porteus Kiosk?

I haven't tried that yet. I set up a couple images of the full o/s, and it appears that the package installs, but when I run it, it doesn't start. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I haven't had a free moment to dig through any logs yet. I'm hoping that someone might have the specs on what base porteus configuration will work with this package so I have one working environment for comparison.

Ultimately, this would be pretty cool if it could run in Kiosk. That could be the makings of an instant thin-client.

Yes, that is what I am cooking. Sorry, I lost track of this thread. I am not sure which 'base' you are talking about. This runs in Porteus v3.1rcX with the xfce desktop. The thin client shouldn't be too far off.

I'm running Kiosk and the plugin appears to be working in Firefox, but from our access gateway it won't launch the ICA.

Update: I am in the machine via SSH - getting "Permission Denied" when trying to launch the ICAs

hi Tim,

not sure if you'll be able to run standard client in kiosk as it requires many deps. i have made a build where it was running ok as a firefox plugin.
had to also unblock right mouse click as it was needed for virtualized apps/desktops.

i did not used module posted in this thread but created xzm from original Citrix package.
maybe go this way.

I managed to get the latest client running in Porteus but I had to run /opt/Citrix/ICAClient/util/integrate.sh

When I try to run this script in Kiosk I get an error (I did this last week so I don't have the message)

Is there any way to make a module from a currently running module?

I'm a bit of a n00b with this sorry.

Citrix Receiver should be easy to maintain so i could make it available through the wizard. the only downside is that Citrix apps requires right mouse click available and i dont want to bring it back to kiosk.

will see what i can do about it in January (maybe i'll be able to strip off menu offered by right mouse click). if you want to get this module sooner then please contact me through builds@porteus-kiosk.org.

thanks

Citrix in the Kiosk-Edition would be so great! I managed to get it almost working, but it seems like needing to download and open the ica-file is the problem.

I have an almost working version of 13.1. I'm just tweaking it at the moment but it is automatically integrating and opening the ICA files. I am just working on getting it to automatically accept the EULA.

What do you mean exactly with allmost working version? Ready to start apps from storefront or webinterface via websites in firefox? Or with full satisfied library dependencies to use also the selfservice and or storebrowse utils?
What is your current progress? Do you also plan to get cisco anyconnect or openconnect running inside the porteus thin-client?
