Website: Can you make it BLACK ON BLACK?????

Post#1 by NotBlind » 19 Nov 2012, 07:19

I've read some good reviews on Porteus and I'd like to download it to try it out, but WTF is with the website colour scheme???

Seriously... WHY DON'T YOU MAKE THE WEBSITE BLACK TEXT ON BLACK BACKGROUND??? I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE LESS EYE STRAIN SINCE AT LEAST THEN I WOULDN"T BE GETTING A HEADACHE FROM LOOKING AT THIS INSANE DESIGN!!!

Yes... I fully understand all caps is yelling. I meant to.

Obviously any decision process that puts dark gray on black needs to get their a** chewed out.

Insane. It's as bad as having a restaurant that has no light at the entry, no visible signage, and no lights inside.

If your design concept is so empty that this is the only idea you can come up with... then get somebody else. Cool is fine. Chic is great. Stupid is always stupid.

Fix it if you want to survive.

Welcome on board,

Firstly reduce the size of your caps. If you have a problem with color scheme of the website. Just report it as any normal humans with words without cry or yell on someone. This is more useful and more understable-able for everyone. The way you're currently asking/recommending us to change website's color scheme is acting against the image of Porteus.

Any helpful suggestions would be very appreciated.

Thanks,

@NotBlind
agree but yelling was not necessary - kind suggestion is enough.

@Hamza
what about changing text font color to white instead of grey?
by white i mean the same color as top menu has (Home, Download, Info, etc..)

thanks

well thats just plain rude..
"Obviously any decision process that puts dark gray on black needs to get their a** chewed out." ....nope, not obvious. arse chewing is not a necessity.
um... where is this 'dark gray on black'?... i see only light grey on dark grey.... except in a drop down menu, which highlights to white on blue....
a monitor issue perhaps? ...personally i prefer light text on dark backgrounds...black on white gives me eye strain..
..of course you can't please everybody..
my advice is, to not take much notice of someone who bursts through the door yelling about the color of your house. "Stupid is always stupid."
@Hamza...........imo, not better. if anything, what fanthom said... lighten the text ....or darken the background...a matter of contrast..

Okay, it seems we have fixed the "issue" reported by NotBlind. I didn't liked the way NotBlind reported his feedback about website.
