slackyd front end for Porteus

New features which should be implemented in Porteus; suggestions are welcome. All questions or problems with testing releases (alpha, beta, or rc) should go in their relevant thread here, rather than the Bug Reports section.

slackyd front end for Porteus

Post#1 by brokenman » 04 Jul 2012, 13:28

Here is a front end for slackyd. It requires the latest Porteus 1.2 final to work properly.

It is still in progress but working ok. Tell me what you think, what would you add, remove etc.

Download it
Make sure it is executable: chmod +x /path/to/gtkslackyd
Run it: sh /path/to/gtkslackyd
How do i become super user?

Dropped it in the box and also here.

It is 'a work in progress' when i find time. Nothing solid yet and still a lot of calls to lxterminal. I'll probably rewrite to make it portable between distros.

Hey brokenman

Thank you there is a lot you can do with the slakyd backend with a GUI
This is a good project to combine speed and ease of use
when I get some free time * I would like to give a GUI in BaCon with slackyd
the speed here in this small app wouldn't make much a difference
but it would be fun thing to code in a different language

I like what you got already!
looking good 8)
A nice addition to packaging tools :)

Joe
