There is a program available on ubuntu available to cast from linux to chromecast:
http://mkchromecast.com/
from this previous link, the information is given for debian and for archlinux. It might be possible to work it out for slackware.

Packages for mkchromecast ubuntu are available here:
https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keyw ... chromecast
these might be use to build mkchromecast with deb2xzm

***work in progress***

Finally, I have returned the chromecast gadget. At home we have a supposedly intelligent LG TV which connects to the internet. Has any of you have a method other than mkchromecast to cast from their linux box to their intelligent TV?
