Login as root

Postby D.Brian » 20 Mar 2017, 02:38

I'm trying to login as root. I make it into the initialization script, but I can't figure out how to stop it long enough to login. If I go into the submenu on the graphic page that precedes the initialization script, I can get to the text only, but then it won't let me negotiate to the file: /boot/syslinux/porteus.cfg. I'm sure I'm not seeing something really basic. Help please!

At the graphic page press the Tab key and at the end of the line add login=root

Or from the guest account type
su
toor

and that will get you too root.

Or logout (via the menus) from the guest account, replace the "guest" username on the "Login:" screen by "root", press <enter>, type "toor" for the password and press <enter> again.
