Hide host disk - mount USB boot disk

Post#1 by nxspam » 14 Mar 2017, 10:00

OK, my second noob question.

I got a very useful reply concerning hiding the disks of the host computer with the "noauto" cheat code in the porteus.cfg file.

That works well, but it also hides the "UUI" folder which, I think, is the FAT formatted part of the USB I'm booting from.

How can I hide the host hard disk and still see the USB, with access to /porteus and porteus/modules folders etc?

OK, panic over, I got it.

I've found the folders I'm missing in the /mnt/sdb1 folder (in terminal) and I must select [File System]->/mnt/sdb1 in the GUI File Manager app.

(told you I was a noob)

I think now, I have my Porteus setup just like I want it - yeahhh!

I can't access, and therefor destroy the host file system (noauto). Yet I can still do things like move packages to the /porteus/modules/ folder for persisting. If I want to get the host drives back, I just edit the porteus.cfg file and reboot!

I'm enjoying this :-)
