Porteus

Hey guys, new-is-bie here ... 3.2.2 MATE 64b running on a Dell E7240. I've successfully installed GIMP, LibreOffice, and Chromium so I know that I'm able to download packages and convert them to modules. Have tried to install OpenShot the same way using the USM tool, and while it creates the module, and while when I move the module into the ...porteus/modules folder it shows up in the proper menu location, I am unable to start the program ... as in I click on the menu item and nothing happens. I'm not sure how to even debug this. Any suggestions?

By the way on a previous install (I just reformatted my thumb drive & started over b/c of some quirks) I tried several other video editors and couldn't get any of them to work. Any suggestions on ones that behave themselves within Porteus would also be welcome.

Tried that. Handbrake seems to load fine (thanks); pitivi downloads and I create the package, but it refuses to show up anywhere in the menu and I can't figure out a command line that will run it.

That worked, thanks! Just for elegance of organization, I moved the Appimage file to a new directory on my thumb drive (that is, outside of the save file), then executed it from there. Nice & neat, it installed a shortcut in the menu and seems to be working fine. Again, thanks!
