LXDE

I'm looking for an LXDE module for porteus 3.2.2, even if unofficial and unsupported.

Apparently it does exist as "003-lxde322.xzm", mentioned by @northpeter1954 once on this forum (PM sent). It sounds like a regular package, but where can it be downloaded from?

Only other references to LXDE modules I've found in some rather esoteric threads: APorteus (ArchLinux) lxde builds by @neko, also in his thread "Porteus LXDE + FVWM"; and Nemesis lxde from @francois. I guess those are experimental branches of Porteus.

from here (64bit only) http://ftp.nluug.nl/os/Linux/distr/port ... 3-lxde.xzm
or the modules directory of one of the other mirrors: http://porteus.org/porteus-mirrors.txt

Oh, silly me, how could I not see it in Porteus-v3.2.2/modules/.

Well, great, so LXDE is still available then, and I'm going to start using it!

rych, as long as I can remember, this LXDE package is very raw. If you want to test something as light as LXDE but a little bit more ready for common use, you can try LXQt (you can find it inside community effort forum section).

Best regards from NZ too :good:

The best one I could find was http://dl.porteus.org/x86_64/current/mo ... 3-lxde.xzm. Is there a way to download one through USM?

No DE is available through USM as far as I l know. However there's a more polished LXDE here: LXDE for Porteus 3.2.2 x86_64
