Help with Broadcom BCM4318

Hi,

New to porteus and attracted here as it seems wifi with Broadcom works. If it does, that will be a first in 2 weeks of trying distros.

But can't get 3.2 rc3 or rc4 wifi working. Have followed the hints (on [HOWTO] Broadcom wifi under Porteus) re the 'blacklist wl' with both, yet lspci -knn never sees a driver loaded. Wifi is toast.

This is booting from USB with the broadcom_blacklist.conf file inserted into the indicated place on the stick - is that gonna work? Do I need to edit the live fs and then restart a service? If so, how??

Hardware is a slightly troubled (but still works under XP) Delll Inspiron 2200 laptop hailing from 2005. Chipset is Broadcom BCM4318 AirForce One. Actually, a nice pc to use - good screen, really good keyboard and loath to trash it.

:( :(
