Chrome crashes KDE

HI All

I just installed Porteus, took a while to get it installed and running.
All goes well until I try to start Chrome, then the whole OS comes crashing down.

Pretty much unusable. Is there a workaround or a fix for this?

I was (and still am) very excited about my Porteus install on a low-profile USB stick (32gb)
I have a new Dell E7450, with 8GB of RAM. I cannot be a memory issue.

I did build an ISO that has the NVIDIA driver, I'm wondering if that's what is causing the problem. Is there an easy way to revert to the default vesa driver?

Thanks,
CHris

What version of chrome? What video card? I have never observed this. It could be a video driver problem. You can build an ISO without the nvidia driver and let the opensource driver (included) take care of it.

That fixed it, thank you.
I also went to firefox instead of chrome. One question I have is: what is the right way to update a browser in Porteus, or to install a new one?

best,
Chris

If you wait a couple of days it will be as easy as typing: update-chrome

As I find solution of your issue inDell Latitude E7450 Manual therefore try to do this:
Boot your computer and hit F2 at the dell logo. Check in the BIOS setup menu and see if your hard drive is recognized.
If so, then boot your computer and hit F12 when you see the Dell logo and select Dell Diagnostics and run Dell Diagnostics on the hard drive.
