"Please create a file (plain text) at /mnt/sdXY/porteus/rootcopy/etc/modprobe.d/broadcom_blacklist.conf with following content:
"blacklist wl"

well that looked quite straightforward, but i don't have that path
mnt/sdb1/porteus/rootcopy/.... which is empty
what am i missing

Hmm that did not work
i know i have created the files correctly
the plane text file i named blacklist and saved in broadcom_blacklist.conf
blacklist wl ? in the how-to the l could be mistaken for a 1(one) or i or l (small L)
i have used small L
which is correct?

It is an l like in loving. Please provide the output of:

Code: Select all

cd /mnt/sdXY/porteus/rootcopy/etc/modprobe.d/
ls
And show the content of the broadcom_blacklist.conf file.

nope

The file should be named broadcom_blacklist.conf
((containing the line blacklist wl (lowercase L))
placed into the modprobe.d Folder.
And do not forget to unblacklist the other drivers in etc/modprobe.d/b43_blacklist.conf

Thanks for your help that worked ok

I had assumed that broadcom_blacklist.conf was a folder that contained a text file
if you look at the folder tree in Thunar it would not appear as
/mnt/sdXY/porteus/rootcopy/etc/modprobe.d/broadcom_blacklist.conf
as it shows in the how-to
