Enjoy your holiday johnsmith. We'll be here when you get back.

BTW What is the size of that /var/usm/ponce/CHECKSUMS.md5.gz file?

ls -l /var/usm/ponce/CHECKSUMS.md5.gz

Not sure I asked that before or not.

So the problem is not that the downloaded module is corrupt, it's not being downloaded. I suspect an antivirus app but where??

I have tried at Spain and everything is running now.
It seems that there should be a problem with UAE firewalls.
As all the communications are monitored by the government, there should be some limitations to some servers, as a "black list".
At Spain, no issue, a just create a brand new ISO and everything is working.

Now the only issue... is regarding language.
I will keep my distro from here but my daughters wants to have their own, but they don't have enough english level to work with it.
I have tried to install the Spanish language... but no way: I just downloaded locales-es_ES.utf8-x86_64-1prt.xzm, place in modules directory.
It is loaded but I don't see any change.

If I try to change through KDE settings, I can't download any language.
Can you help me?

Have a look in:
Panel menu > system > porteus setting center

There should be an option for the language settings that will provide a laberge module.
