So basically I have porteus installed on a usb stick and it works in most machines but it won't boot on my new Acer Netbook (Aspire E3-112). Upon booting I get:
"searching for porteus-v3.1-i486.sgn file"
"device not ready yet? delaying for X seconds"
"Porteus data not found"
I have tried just about every variation from the porteus builder including:
32 / 64 Bit
EFI / Default
All Desktops
Video drivers open source (it has onboard intel graphics)
I have secure boot and uefi disabled, have also tried Graphics mode, always fresh & copy to ram etc.
Please help (I'm very new to linux so please be gentle with me )
Thanks
Can't get porteus to work on acer netbook

Maybe this will give you hint: http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php? ... 02&p=38646
Another way for you is probably to boot Windows - modify Windows bootloader and add another bootloader (neogrub, grub4dos) with correct Porteus entries.

When you get to the blue boot screen hit the [TAB] button and then on the end of the line add delay=5
Let us know how that goes.
