^ What I was afraid of. If on tablet fine. :) Do from 3. Reboot Procedure onwards.

Require
  1. Get tree with USM, and stick it in modules folder.
    1. Paste into text editor (mousepad) statements of code blocks in 6 and directions given in 6.
    2. Save this in a file in /mnt/sda1/disk
  2. Reboot Procedure
    1. Edit porteus.cfg, appending changes=/porteus, ending up with append line: APPEND initrd=initrd.xz fsck timezone=US/Central utc changes=/porteus
    2. Reboot
  3. Do not start firefox. If FF running quit it.
  4. Using mousepad retrieve instructions saved in /mnt/sda1/disk
  5. Do
    1. Code: Select all

pkill firefox; ps -e | grep firefox
    2. If firefox shows up

      Code: Select all

pkill -9 firefox; ps -e | grep firefox
There should not be any firefox left. If there is, try repeating last statement.
    3. Code: Select all

      cat /proc/cmdline
      cat /var/log/porteus-livedbg
      cd /home/guest
      du -sh .mozilla
      [[ -d .mozilla ]] && rm -r .mozilla
      ls .mozilla
      cp -a /mnt/sda1/disk/.mozilla /home/guest
      du -sh .mozilla
      tree -L 2 .mozilla
      tree -d .mozilla

  6. Fire up FF and check for extensions etc.

^ Can't save desktop items (you'll have to do that yourself), so Avatar will do nicely should next effort go as I think it should. The reason for inconsistency of output mentioned earlier, have since verified that as we had to act as root, inadvertently gave root's FF profile the treatment.

Require
  1. Reboot Procedure
    1. Code: Select all

      cp /mnt/sda1/boot/syslinux/porteus.tst /mnt/sda1/boot/syslinux/porteus.cfg
    2. Reboot
  2. Do not start firefox. If FF running quit it.
  3. Using tablet retrieve instructions (if statements in file, a bit easier with copy & paste)
  4. Do

No problem actually. I have a (windows) habit of downloading files to my DESKTOP ... so I had a few files ... not icons ON the desktop. Fine if they are lost .. but am wondering if they are on the hard drive somewhere .... and taking up some space that I don't know about.

Don't know what you mean by 'Avatar'. I know what an avatar is, but not in this context.

Am I to assume you want me to do the following now????

Got so far as cp -a /mnt/sda1........ and ran out of disk space. On tablet at the moment.

wait a minute. Used instructions in FILE. DOESN'T match your code box. Communication breakdown. Not sure what to do now.

I retrieved instructions from FILE on computer with mouse pad. No FF open.

Just reboot and follow all instructions 1 to 5. If anything goes awry, just reboot and start all over again.

(This isn't Win$oze. Everything is robust 8) )

OK ,,, printing instructions in code blocks in your most recent post that HAS code blocks on PAPER. Rebooting computer and following THEM.
