hi if you have a linux file system, you have to choose one option in the porteus cfg with save changes, and all you do document changes and so on,if you have a fat32 file system you have to do a save.dat container for store changes, into the faq section you can read how to do this.

What is the grub loader booting porteus on your hard disk?

i had grub 2,
and i had peppermint 5, installed,
till i downloaded a .deb file, named mobile partner,
and all the system got destroyed.
I wanted it, just for my huaweii modem,
but it was the most awful malware and virus for linux,

the system became very slow,
the modem had always the usbswitch to cd,
and many programms were installed, without knowing,

i reinstall peppermint linux,
and the new installation again fails,
dramatically, very, very slow,

and also grub is being destroyed,
i reinstall grub,
and i go to grub rescue,
and with some set root, and set prefix, i achieve to boot,

but again all the hard drive, is infected with viruses,

till i find porteus, and i install to hard drive,
and got saved from hackers and viruses,

i only have the porteus bootloader,
i see bios, but no grub anymore,

you did a great job guys,
just 200 mb, its a great operating system,

although a bit weird, to move from the logic of deb files,
to the modules,

i,ll make it,

well thats my story,

and lastly,
if i save the session,
all the add on , data, files and more, will be saved next time i reboot?

With linux filesystem to partition your hdd, if you are using /boot/syslinux/porteus.cfg and syslinux as bootloader with desktop xfce or kde (but very basic info with lxqt) with the changes cheatcode it should save the info:

Code: Select all

LABEL gui
MENU LABEL Graphics mode (XFCE)
KERNEL vmlinuz
APPEND initrd=initrd.xz changes=/porteus
TEXT HELP
Run Porteus the best way we can.
    Try to autoconfigure graphics
    card and use the maximum
    allowed resolution
ENDTEXT
Prendre son temps, profiter de celui qui passe.
