Chrome and mouse problems

Post#1 by bartosh44 » 03 Oct 2014, 06:28

Hi, I am fresh Porteus user and I have 2 questions.

1) how to disable window pan after pressing ALT key+ LMB. I installed 3d app Modo 801 on Porteus (created module) and I can`t rotate scene becouse of that (key conflict - my window is panning insead rotating inside viewport).
2) why in Root mode Chrome is not allowed to run (It tells me to go to Guest mode). My Modo runs in root mode only (licensing problem) and I would like to open also Chrome in that mode. Is it possible?

hi bartosh44,

1) which desktop are you using?
2) create shortcut on your desktop and run chrome with following syntax: 'chrome --user-data-dir=/root/.config/google-chrome'

2) it works thanks. I did it firstly in google-chrome file as last line but your way is better becouse it works only on root and is not permanent (more secure).

1) XFCE
