After several months away from Porteus, I thought I would give it another try. At the moment, my main distro is Crunchbang 11. I'm looking forward to see if Porteus is for me. Just downloaded the new version 3 xfce release. I know more than I did when I first tried Porteus so I am hoping my new knowledge and awareness when it comes to Linux, will help me. I plan on watching a ton of Porteus vidoes and read some tutorials if I get stuck.

I'm going to give it a try. I installed the new version 3 on my hd. I'm having a problem doing the update all in USM. It is not updating properly. I keep getting the Missing database files error even after attempting to do an update all. Any ideas what I should do? I'm trying to install some software. Seems to hang on the slacky database update.

Thanks!!

As soon as brokenman has the time to look at the posts, he will provide a solution to USM. We just need a little patience.
