Hdd install Boot to ram

just wondering on a hdd installation if the base modules are copied to ram or does it run off the hdd?

i'm no expert but i think a hdd install works the same as a usb install

so yes the base modules are copied to ram

So does that mean I can put modules that i want to run of RAM in the base folder and the rest run of hdd?

if you choose the copy2ram boot option then all modules in the base folder and the modules folder will be copied to ram, and so nothing will be running off the hdd

but if you use the default graphics mode boot option then everything will run from the hdd
