Installing a driver for wifi adapter

hi, the init 4 is always a guest account, if you want to login as root you have to choose txt mode when you have the prompt ready login as root and toor as password

I don't have any options to choose when it is launching. It was automatically root (no manual logining) before I replaced files.
So I need to set somewhere to make it automatically root or to replace some another way or more files.

init 4 means: Multiuser startup (runlevel 4), but in X11 with KDM, GDM, or XDM as the login manager
http://www.slackware.com/config/init.php
It is certainly possible to log in as root via init 4.

So how to replace files to save automatic root or how to enable root by default?

I can't switch to root because it doesn't allow me to enter the password (symbols) for some reason (at "Txt mode" and with "su"). So I have to use configuration files. Or to replace files some another way.

...wondering which ancient version of Porteus used kernel 3.19.8
CODE: SELECT ALL

cat /etc/porteus-version
Oh, I missed this. It is Porteus-v3.1.

Update:
After replacing files (kernel and vmlinuz), I don't have the start menu. The first option gave me automatic root. Now it starts with the blue screen with only one string:

There should be a third file to replace?

Hmm..The Porteus 3.1 iso has kernel 3.17.4-porteus not 3.19.8

However, replacing 000-kernel.xzm, vmlinuz, initrd.xz and the porteus-xxx.sgn file
with files from an 3.2.2 iso .......and it is running [ installed in a virtual-box Vm ]

How good or bad will this combination work -- I don't know.
...one question remains;
Why don't you upgrade your 3.1 to 3.2.2 or newer?
.

Because it is Porteus-based, not official. I wanted this version to check if I can get the speed I have seen, like to make clear experiments (as we know, programs may become worse). Tried version with 3.2 / 4.14.0-porteus (the latest available), it sees the adapter, but the driver is raw there, it stops to work when a program starts to use it (a red cross appears where connections). Also no uefi there (I need it for VM). And I heard about other problems. With kernel 4.9.0, the driver is ok.

Tried this and got all the same (the blue screen, no Porteus start menu and no root as a consequence). I see it uses Grub. It seems I have to adjust its configuration (after replacing files) to make the start menu appear. If yes, how?
