LXQt 0.11.1 x64

Here is a place for your projects which are not officially supported by the Porteus Team. For example: your own kernel patched with extra features; desktops not included in the standard ISO like Gnome; base modules that are different than the standard ISO, etc...

LXQt 0.11.1 x64

Post#1 by fulalas » 28 Apr 2017, 03:05

Build of LXQt 0.11.1 x64. I tried my best to avoid useless bin/libs, always focusing on the minimalist approach. The module has just 43 mb, including Qt 5.9.1 basics. It consumes around 210 mb RAM after booting on 'Always Fresh' mode. I didn't have time (and, I must confess, patience) to keep track of all installed packages inside /var/log/packages, so you may face some difficulties when trying to uninstall a package. But this is the most stable and well done LXQt package I've ever done (and one of the best among all distros I've tested so far).

This build comes with:
.SMPlayer 17.6.0 (video player front-end)
.Mpv 0.21.0 (video engine-player)
.Qmmp 1.1.9 (audio player)
.Engrampa 1.18.2 (zip compressor/decompressor)
.Featherpad 0.6.1 (simple text editor)
.QTransmission 2.92 (torrent client -- custom build that allows users to add multiple trackers at once)
.Lxtask 0.1.8 (task manager)
.ePDFViewer 0.1.8 (simple pdf viewer)
.GParted 0.26.1 (partition tool)
.NetworkManager Applet 1.4.4 (network configuration interface)
.Libmpt 1.1.13 (access smartphone/camera files)
.Glib2 2.52.2 (required by LXQt)

Some screeshots:

http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Delerue ... b.jpg.html
http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Delerue ... x.jpg.html

LXQt global hotkeys:
Open file explorer -> win + e
Open terminal -> win + t
Maximize/restore -> win + up
Minimize -> win + down
Show desktop -> win + d
Open runner -> win + r
Show application menu -> ctrl + esc
Open task manager -> ctrl + alt + del
Open calculator -> ctrl + alt + c
Open FeatherPad -> ctrl + alt + n

Qmmp global hotkeys:
Play -> ctrl + alt + insert
Stop -> ctrl + alt + end
Pause/play -> ctrl + alt + home
Next song -> ctrl + alt + pagedown
Previous song -> ctrl + alt + pageup
Increase volume -> ctrl + alt + up
Decrease volume -> ctrl + alt + down
Forward 5s -> ctrl + alt + right
Rewind 5s -> ctrl + alt + left

Any help/suggestion is welcomed. :good:

New version uploaded (same link).

Fixed:
- Some shortcuts were not working or was using the wrong sudo command;
- Pcmanfm-qt 'Open as root' was in fact opening as super user;
- Pcmanfm-qt root profile had different settings when compared to guest user;
- Gparted was not correctly installed;
- Removed some useless files;
- M3u and Srt files were being executed instead of opened -- although this is a LXQt issue (already reported to LXQt developers), a temporary solution was set: a dialog opens asking user what to do, and the correct option is 'open';
- Trying a new way of setting Qt 5.8 (this should improve compatibility with Qt apps);
- Magnet links accessed from Chromium-based browsers failed to open Transmission Qt (thanks, babam!);

Updates:
- SMPlayer updated to 17.4.2
- Gparted updated to 0.26.1

New version uploaded (same link).

Fixed:
- When plugging a camera/smartphone there was an error message. The solution was updating libmtp to 1.1.13 and removing libgphoto2 (which was causing a conflict);
- FeatherPad was having some encoding problems, and it was also lacking some common shortcuts, like ctrl + w or ctrl + F4 or middle mouse button click to close current tab, ctrl + t to open new tab, esc to close search and jump to widgets and many others;

I'm not updating Mpv to 0.25.0 because it requires a new version of FFMpeg that doesn't come with Porteus 3.2.2 (current last official version). But you can get the modules here:

Oops, Sorry, guys. I made a mistake yesterday and accidentally uploaded a new module with Mpv 0.25.0, which doesn't work with Porteus current FFMpeg version. It's fixed now with Mpv 0.21.0 :good:

+ 'Dialog buttons' (Ok and Cancel buttons)

2) Please, disable option with 'Show hidden files and folders'

3) If I try to remove file or folder via Delete button from non Linux partition (for example NTFS partition) I see this error

@Blaze, I'm playing around with LXQt current git master, so maybe you wanna try my last module from yesterday and see if it fixes some of your problems (it fixes a lot of problems since the official 0.11.1):
http://www.mediafire.com/file/tgyd5i5z7 ... -qt5.8.xzm
http://www.mediafire.com/file/6eqwoaces ... 6_64-2.xzm

You need the glib2 package since recent updates on libfm-qt requires glib2 version 2.5 or higher, and current Porteus 3.2.2 comes with a lower version. Also, I noticed that your pcmanfm-qt is showing system units and also the same sdb1 a few times. Maybe the update I made of /etc/udev/rules.d/10-porteus-fstab-update.rules also fixes this for you so you'll see only real units (HDD, SSD, USB stick, etc). Let me know, please.

I haven't try to install any localization package for LXQt nor any other Linux application (since English is fine for me), but it's possible that you're missing some files. So here's all 'locale' folders that LXQt generates during the build:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/v829jn3ai ... ocales.xzm
Blaze wrote:2) Please, disable option with 'Show hidden files and folders'
Why? I don't like the idea of having files that I can't see. This hiding philosophy seems a Microsoft approach, don't you think? :)
Blaze wrote:3) If I try to remove file or folder via Delete button from non Linux partition (for example NTFS partition) I see this error
I can't reproduce this error. Are you sure this is a LXQt issue? I have no idea what to do in order to fix it :(

Regarding "remove file or folder via Delete button from non Linux partition" (gvfs-trash command) - it is because you are guest and your partition owner is root. If you mount it as guest moving files to Trash should work. My ntfs partition is mounted at boot time and I can't change its owner without modifying linuxrc - my workaround is to add at boot time something like this:

Code: Select all

mkdir -p /tmp/.Trash-1000
chown guest:users /tmp/.Trash-1000
ln -sn /home/guest/.local/share/Trash/files /tmp/.Trash-1000
ln -sn /home/guest/.local/share/Trash/info /tmp/.Trash-1000
mount -o bind /tmp/.Trash-1000 /mnt/sda4/.Trash-1000
You have mind and feelings. Be wise and clever.

fulalas, thanks for a new module of LXQT.
1) Issue with localization 'Clock Settings' is gone, but troubles with 'Right click in Menu bar' (patch bar in English) and + 'Dialog buttons' (Ok and Cancel buttons) is still are present.

I tried your localization and she is poor than mine and have many trash files.
I found these repo https://github.com/lxde/lxqt-l10n
but I don't know how to compile ts2qm
You need the glib2 package...
2) I use Porteus-current, and I don't need in glib2

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/home/guest# find /var/log/packages -iname *glib2*
/var/log/packages/glib2-2.52.2-x86_64-2
root@porteus:/home/guest#
The issue with that I see these mount points dev, pts, proc and sys at the left sidebar of pcmanfm-qt - it's a bug of Porteus-current.

3)
Are you sure this is a LXQt issue?
Not sure. Probably it's call of Porteus-current.

tome,
you are guest and your partition owner is root
you are right

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/home/guest# ls -lh /mnt/sda2
итого 16G
drwxrwxrwx 1 root root    0 май 12 17:08 $RECYCLE.BIN/

-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root  16G июн 23 16:28 pagefile.sys*
root@porteus:/home/guest#
if I open as root

Code: Select all

lxsu pcmanfm-qt
I can remove data from NTFS fs.

Don't like way wtih .Trash-1000 on NTFS partition.

fulalas, where I can find and tweak these right click menu actions (txz2xzm, deb2xzm, ect) for PCmanFM-Qt?

@tome, since you're talking about this, could you help me understand one thing? When I open pcmanfm-qt as a guest user, all units labels are loaded correctly, however if I open pcmanfm-qt as root, the labels are missing and all I can see is sdc1, sda1, etc. Do you know why?

Since this LXQt module is based on OpenBox, it could be that we're missing openBox location files. I'm not sure. It's just a guess. But Porteus specific context menu are .desktop files inside /usr/share/applications, so you may want to edit them manually and translate to Russian.
Blaze wrote:I tried your localization and she is poor than mine and have many trash files.

Every single LXQt package was compiled by me and inserted in those modules I gave you on my post above. So you won't make any progress by compiling lxqt-l10n. Regarding the 'trash' files, I just gave you everything inside /usr/share, so maybe you need to do some cleaning. Sorry for that.
Blaze wrote:2) I use Porteus-current, and I don't need in glib2
Porteus current 3.2.2 has glib2 version 2.46.2 inside 001-core. I've just checked it. Either you have updated 001-core or you're using another module that has a higher glib2 version. I'm curious now :)
Blaze wrote:The issue with that I see these mount points dev, pts, proc and sys at the left sidebar of pcmanfm-qt - it's a bug of Porteus-current.
I don't see these units if pcmanfm-qt is opened as guest, but they appear if I open it as root. I have no idea why and that's why I asked tome.
