LXQt 0.11.1 x64

Here is a place for your projects which are not officially supported by the Porteus Team. For example: your own kernel patched with extra features; desktops not included in the standard ISO like Gnome; base modules that are different than the standard ISO, etc...

Agreed :good:
fulalas wrote:I tried to keep everything that comes with the original Porteus.
It's not present in the original Porteus
fulalas wrote:But I think bundles isn't working properly. I need to check this.
If you mean, when it errors out saying "Bundle list does not contain modules." I think this error is on all desktops. This happened because the live script still checks at the old bundle location http://dl.porteus.org/x86_64/Porteus-v3.2.2/bundles/ which is now empty. I think the new bundles location is now http://brokenman.porteus.org/bundles/

I will check Manjaro lxqt and let you know.

Hahaha! I've just checked and you're totally right! Maybe I got it from an old ncmprhnsbl package. Do you know why it's not part of Porteus (anymore?)?

I see now. I have to confess that I've never used this and I don't quite understand it :P

Manjaro lxqt also did not show a battery applet. But after enabling it from Power Management Settings -> Enable Battery Watcher, battery applet came on the tray.

I'm on a new your current version of lxqt and I see hidden files/folders by default :D :D :D

Code: Select all

root@porteus:~# cat /etc/xdg/pcmanfm-qt/lxqt/settings.conf | grep ShowHidden=
ShowHidden=false
ShowHidden=false
root@porteus:~# cat /home/guest/.config/pcmanfm-qt/default/settings.conf | grep ShowHidden=

I tried Manjaro lxqt and I see the same story with Russian localization, that in Porteus

@Blaze, I though that changing just the other files would be enough, but it seems that I need to change the defaults too. :wall:

Regarding the locale issue, I have no idea how to solve it. Sorry :(

neko, thanks, I will check it.

fulalas, If we don't use compton (X compositor) - more info here, why you are include compton-conf (configurator for Compton X composite manager) package in LXQt - more info here?

Code: Select all

root@porteus:~# find /home/guest/Загрузки/lxqt-x64-test/base/003-lxqt/var/log/packages/ -name *compton*
/home/guest/Загрузки/lxqt-x64-test/base/003-lxqt/var/log/packages/compton-conf-0.2.0-x86_64-2alien
root@porteus:~#
Btw, you are use compton-conf-0.2.0-x86_64-2alien, but in the Slackonly repo are present a more higher version of the compton-conf-0.2.1-x86_64-3_slonly.txz

Code: Select all

/install/slack-required

Plus, in the /etc/xdg/autostart/ you are put lxqt-compton.desktop with command

Code: Select all

compton --dbus
but compton bin file are not present in the /usr/bin/ directory (look at the files section - here)

Code: Select all

root@porteus:~# find /usr/bin/ -iname *compton*
/usr/bin/compton-conf
root@porteus:~#
compton-conf only.

Code: Select all

In ROSA Fresh LXQt R9 seems all ok with Russian localization =)

Others DE of ROSA Fresh you can download from here

fulalas, how about to add mount widget by default to the right corner of panel LXQt?

I always asked the same, but compton-conf is just part of the LXQt package even if it's not clear what is 'Window Effects' (how compton-conf is called) from the common user perspective. I didn't do anything about it, just compiled and packed it inside LXQt module. I personally don't like compositors, since they are useless and usually decreases performance. But maybe if a user wants to use compton then there's a GUI for its settings.
Blaze wrote:but compton bin file are not present in the /usr/bin/ directory (look at the files section - here)
I've just downloaded this package and compton bin is indeed inside /usr/bin. See for yourself :)

This file is created as soon as you apply a new setting inside compton-conf ;)

Regarding putting mount icon tray, I think these defaults decisions are very controversial. In my opinion we should provide the cleanest, fastest and most useful experience by default, and that's why I'm providing some tweaks over LXQt because I don't agree with all its defaults. But adding icons to the tray can pollute the interface, and all units can be seen and unmount inside pcmanfm-qt, right?
